The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 276

"Okay!"

Lana looked very happy and was smiling brightly as she hugged Abigail.

Abigail looked like a mother, who was showing her gentle side. She finally seemed to be more patient in front of a child.

Watching her like this, I was momentarily lost in thought. For a moment, it was as if I'd traveled back in time, to the days when I had begged her to keep our baby.

Back then, I had been looking forward to the arrival of our child. I often fantasized about what Abigail would be like as a mother. I had been thrilled that my identity was going to change.

I had looked forward to the day when our child was born. I wondered if the child would take after Abigail or me. I even bought a lot of baby clothes—outfits for both a boy and a girl.

I remembered telling Abigail not to stress too much. I told her I would love the child regardless of the gender.

However, Abigail was very cold to me back then. She shook her head indifferently and didn't seem to care about what I thought. She said calmly, "Samuel, I've been so exhausted lately. Let's talk about the baby some other time. I don't have the energy for this right now."

After hearing her words, I thought her exhaustion was due to work. I thought she meant that we could discuss baby-related matters after some time because she wasn't in the mood for the time being, so I nodded and told her to rest.

"Abigail, no matter what, you're the most important person to me," I told her. "If you don't want to talk about the baby now, we don't have to. Let's discuss it when things settle down at your company."

My attempt to comfort her had no effect. She glanced at me indifferently and didn't even bother to talk to me. She just turned and headed to her room to rest.
