The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 28

After Joshua confessed his love for Abigail on the stage, he gave me a smug look. He strode toward me and smiled at me as he sat down.

"Samuel, I thought you wouldn't come, and I didn't expect you to give me this kind of respect. I'm flattered."

I calmly drank the cup of coffee on the table and looked at him indifferently as I said, "So, the reason you came to see me was just to show off that Abigail is pregnant with your child?"

Joshua smiled and waved his hand as he explained, "No. You have got me wrong. I just think that you deserve to know the truth."

I wondered what the truth was. Did he think that Abigail didn't love me at all, so he could look forward to our divorce and take my place?

I chuckled and responded calmly, "You seem to have the wrong person."

"What do you mean by that?" Joshua frowned at me. He clearly didn't understand what I meant.

I calmly took out my phone from my pocket and dialed Abigail's number.

The moment Joshua saw this, his face turned pale. He waved his hands in panic and tried to stop me, but the call connected as soon as I pressed the dial on the phone.

It was noisy on Abigail's end, and I could hear her running. Once her surroundings were quiet, she said, "Why are you calling me?"

I kept looking at the pale Joshua and said softly, "Your lover told me that you are pregnant, so he came to pressure me to divorce you."

There was silence on the other end of the phone.

I said without hesitation, "I've told him more than once that if he wants us to divorce, he should go and talk to you. After all, you are the one who didn't want to let go, right?"

My words were devoid of emotions, and Abigail replied coldly, "Samuel, I've told you many times that you'll never escape me in this lifetime. I won't divorce you, so you can give up on that idea."
