The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 297

I was stunned. I didn't know what to say.

I was genuinely happy that the lost ring had been returned. Excited, even.

But what did it truly signify? Did it mean that Abigail and I could forget everything that had happened between us, wipe the slate clean, and go back to the way things used to be?

To be honest, I didn't dare to make that promise. Yet, deep down, her gesture had already stirred something in me.

I no longer resisted Abigail. Instead, I held her tightly in my arms and sincerely thanked her.

However, Abigail gently took my hand, and her eyes were tender. With a soft smile, she said, "There are many ways to express gratitude, Samuel, but simply saying thank you is the least sincere option. I'd rather see you show it with action."

My heart pounded in my chest. Even though she hadn't spelled it out, I understood exactly what she meant by that.

Without hesitation, I leaned in and kissed her deeply.

Once everything was over, Abigail lay next to me as she gradually drifted off to sleep.

Watching her peaceful expression, I felt something change within me. My heart, which had been frozen for so long, slowly began to thaw.

This was the Abigail I once knew. She was gentle, thoughtful, and caring. She had always been the one I believed I would love for the rest of my life.

If we could stay like this, wouldn't that be enough?

I reached out and gently brushed her hair away from her face before pulling the blanket over her.
