The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 321

Abigail's compensation sounded more laughable than sincere. She had promised me many times before, but she had never fulfilled any of her promises.

However, to my surprise, the next morning, I was awakened by the courier. The delivery guy passed me a large package and asked me to sign for it.

I gave him a puzzled look and shook my head. "This isn't mine. I didn't order anything."

The delivery guy double-checked the invoice and looked at me in disbelief. "Are you Samuel?"

I nodded.

He gave me a weird look and said, "That's right, then. This is your package. Why don't you check if it's one of your family members who bought it for you?"

Left with no choice, I signed for it.

The package had no sender details, but the moment I opened it, I immediately knew it was from Abigail.

Inside was a finely crafted brooch engraved with my name. This should be the compensation she was talking about.

After all, I had fought with her many times over this brooch. She was willing to spend a fortune on an expensive brooch for Joshua, yet she refused to pay for Kayla's treatment.

Seeing the brooch again only emphasized the ridiculousness I felt at that moment. Abigail never understood me at all. She had no idea what I truly wanted.

She thought that this brooch was what I desired, when in truth, even if she gave me a hundred, or thousands of them, I wouldn't even bat an eye.

The only thing I wanted was to have Kayla returned to me.

However, that was just me being delusional.
