Jane looked puzzled. "I thought things have been good between you two. What happened?"
She didn't understand what was going on, so she asked me with hesitation.
I smiled and said, "Forget about it. I'm tired. If you have nothing to do, you can rest too. I'm guessing Abigail won't be coming back tonight."
With that, I immediately turned and headed to the guest room.
As soon as I entered the room, I lay on the bed, feeling exhausted. I could feel how sore my body was, and I desperately needed a good rest.
As expected, Abigail didn't return home tonight. I didn't bother asking where she went, so I picked up my music score and started composing. It was because of my work that I found a sense of purpose in this busy life.
As I had expected, Abigail continued to come and see me whether there was something going on or not. She still hadn't stopped pestering me, nor had she let go of her possessiveness.
Unfortunately, I had no intention of getting involved with her. I handled what I could, and for what I couldn't deal with, I accepted it calmly.
Abigail's attitude toward me had improved significantly, as if the arguments between us didn't exist.
She still didn't give up and wanted a child. Every time I suggested using protection, she refused. Perhaps it was fate that we didn't have a child because she wasn't pregnant yet, and the thought gave me comfort.
I received a call from the hospital staff this afternoon. Dr. Boone told me that Lana missed me a lot and wanted me to visit her. It suddenly dawned on me that I had been so busy lately that I hadn't paid Lana a visit for a long time.
I immediately went to the store to buy her favorite toy and cake before I headed to the hospital.
"Samuel, you're finally here!"
