The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 394

I'd lost count of how many times I'd said this to Abigail. In truth, I was constantly reminding her, hoping she'd handle this relationship with some sense of reason, that if it was time to let go, she should do it and stop making things difficult for me.

The next thing I knew, Abigail glared at me with a cold expression. Her face was stern, and she frowned as she stared at me. In a chilling tone, she said, "Samuel, don't do this. I don't like it."

"You don't like it?"

What she said hit me like a sharp blow. I couldn't help but let out a bitter laugh.

"Abigail, do you even know what you're saying?" I asked helplessly. "Why should I change just because you don't like it? You and I are no longer the same kind of people. Why should I still listen to you, follow your every word?"

The more I said, the worse I felt. The disappointment in my eyes couldn't be hidden any longer.

Abigail frowned. It was clear she didn't know what to say.

I gave a faint smile and softly asked, "Abigail, tell me, who am I to you?"

There was a look of hesitation in Abigail's eyes. Then, she forced a smile and gently replied, "Samuel, are you out of your mind? To me, you're the person I love most. You're my husband, the person I can't live without."

"The person you can't live without?"

When I heard her say that, I let out a light laugh. It felt as though Abigail was making the biggest joke of all.
