The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 88

"Can I leave now?" I asked casually, and sure enough, Abigail shot me a disgusted glance.

She unlocked the car door, looking at me coldly as she spat, "Get out, you're dirtying my car!"

I remained calm, completely unbothered by Abigail's insults. On the contrary, I felt a sense of relief.

It would be best to avoid being in the same space as Abigail. Her entitlement only made me hate her more!

Abigail had completely exhausted any last shreds of goodwill I had for her.

I got out of the car and stood calmly by the roadside.

I had thought that Blair, who had been following us, would stop to take me home, and I had even prepared how to politely decline her offer.

But to my surprise, she simply drove past me without any intention of stopping.

Abigail's and Blair's cars sped away from my sight, one after the other.

I didn't want to dwell on it, so I called a taxi home.

After all, Blair and I were on different pages. Her persistence left me feeling somewhat helpless.

However, I was woken up by a series of urgent knocks on the door early the next morning.

I didn't even have time to put on my slippers, dragging my sleepy self to the door unsteadily.

"Sophia? What are you doing here?"

I turned to let her in.

I was slightly puzzled as I glanced at my phone and asked, "Isn't today Saturday? Did I forget to tell you that we have weekends off?"

Sophia poured herself a glass of water, gulping it down before looking at me in surprise. "Haven't you seen the trending news?"

"Come on, it's only seven in the morning! I just woke up. I have no time to check the news on my phone."
