The Medallion novel Chapter 1284

But it was not enough to prevent the spread of the pestilence. There were already more than ten thousand people who were infected and suspected to be infected in all cities and towns now. And hundreds of people died every day because of the deadly disease. So, they had to find an antibody and develop a vaccine as soon as possible. This was the only way to solve their fundamental problem.

Ten days later, under the unremitting efforts of Rocky and the medical team he led, they finally found an antibody for the virus from the blood of a little boy.

Rocky immediately spent a whole night developing a vaccine with the use of the antibody. At last, a vaccine was finally developed, and it was tested on a severely ill patient. About twelve hours later, the virus in the body of the patient was completely suppressed and he no longer took a turn for the worse. This only meant that the vaccine was indeed successfully developed.

"It worked! The vaccine really worked!" When Rocky was finally sure that the vaccine had been successfully developed, he could not help but breathe a deep sigh of relief. His sleepless nights and countless efforts were not put to waste.

Marcia also smiled with relief as she stood beside Rocky. The success in developing the vaccine meant that tens of thousands of lives could be saved.

Suddenly, a commander of the Rime Army Group rushed in and said anxiously, "General, there is some bad news. Something happened in the isolation area. Please immediately go there and check!"

Rocky and Marcia looked at each other when they heard that, and then quickly rushed to the isolation area. When they arrived, they were immediately shocked by what they saw. The isolation area had been completely damaged, and thousands of infected and suspected people had been turned into zombies. They looked extremely ferocious and furious. They were all shrieking and frantically trying to rush out of the isolation area.

Fortunately, there were a lot of soldiers guarding outside the isolation area, so they blocked the zombies from rushing out. However, many soldiers were bitten when they confronted the zombies. Just seconds after being bitten, they quickly underwent a terrifying transformation and turned into zombies as well.

"What in the world is going on?" Marcia asked in utter surprise. She could not believe what she was seeing.

Almost at the same time, a huge beast shadow that was the size of a small mountain came from outside the city. The huge beast shadow's astonishing aura completely spread all around. It looked down at the whole city and roared loudly. With this, the zombies became crazier.

Rocky and Marcia also heard the booming roar.

"Is that a wild calamity beast?" As soon as Marcia finished her words, she flapped her wings and immediately flew to the air. She saw the huge beast shadow that appeared outside the city. Although it was extremely far away, she could still feel the amazing aura it released.

At that moment, Rocky's eyes suddenly turned cold. Looking at the zombies that were still frantically trying to break out of the encirclement, he suddenly realized that the wild calamity beast was the cause of the outbreak of the pestilence. And judging from the current situation, the wild calamity beast seemed to be able to evolve the virus. The evolved virus made the infected human beings turn into zombies.

"This is all happening so fast. What should we do now?" Marcia immediately asked Rocky as soon as she landed on the ground.

"Lead the army to protect all the people. Then, evacuate from the city at once. We have to give up the city this time." Rocky knew that this city would soon become the calamity beast's nest where it cultivated the zombies. He wouldn't risk the lives of many people, so they couldn't stay here any longer.

"And what about you?" Marcia asked Rocky.

"I'll stay here and buy some time for you," Rocky said as he faintly smiled. He remained composed in front of everyone amidst the chaotic situation.
