"I'm here to ask you something," Alyssa said after exchanging the pleasantries.
"What is it that you want to know?" Laney asked.
"Well, I want to know exactly where Rocky is hiding Lena!" Alyssa directly said.
Hearing this, Laney couldn't help but tremble with shock. She knew there must be some reason why Alyssa asked about Lena's whereabouts. Besides that, she knew that Lena was the woman that Alston wanted to get the most. With those thoughts in mind, she had figured out Alyssa's purpose.
Seeing the expression on Laney's face, Alyssa knew that she had already figured out the purpose of her visit, but she still demanded Laney in a calm and composed tone, "Don't say that you don't know where she is. It's impossible for you not to know. I won't make things difficult for you if you tell me where she is!"
"Your Highness, you know that I'm not allowed to disclose anything," Laney helplessly said. Although she still greatly respected Alyssa, she was now Rocky's subordinate so she couldn't possibly betray him.
"I know that you're not allowed to tell me. But you must, or else I'll..." Alyssa said as she suddenly reached out and grabbed Laney by the neck.
A painful look immediately appeared on Laney's delicate face and her breathing became difficult.
"Tell me now. Don't make me kill you!" Alyssa coldly threatened. She was willing to do anything to know Lena's whereabouts.
"No, Your Highness..." Tears welled up in Laney's eyes and she bit her pale lips. She was getting dizzy and was about to pass out.
"If you still recognize me as your princess, please just tell me. I'm begging you. I need to know where she is. I promise that I will never appear before you again once you tell me. Actually, I can find it out anyway even if you don't tell me. But I don't want to make things more complicated. If you won't tell me, I'm afraid more people will die in the end," Alyssa ferociously said.
Hearing this, Laney trembled with fear. She knew that Alyssa always kept her word. Eventually, she had to compromise and tell her where Lena was hiding. With that, Alyssa immediately left without looking back.
A few days later.
The Eternity City was in a small country which had been recaptured by the United Army. In the dead of night in a big house in the northeast corner of the city, Lena was holding Nigel as she walked around the house and told Nigel stories in a low voice to help him sleep. Soon enough, the baby was fast asleep in her arms.
Lena took him to the bed and tucked him in. Then she sat on the chair and began to sew new clothes for Nigel.
After Lance's death, Isis led the West United Army to keep fighting, so Nigel was left in the care of Lena and Sue. After Lena had resigned as the Witch of the Holy Dragon Empire, she started to do things that girls of ordinary families would normally do.
As the night went by, Lena became a little tired because of sewing. She put away her materials and was about to go to bed when she heard some noise outside.
The house was guarded by a group of spirit manipulators arranged by Marcia and no outsider could enter. So, as soon as she heard the noises outside, Lena immediately became vigilant. She quickly picked up Nigel and was about to escape through the window. But in a blink of an eye, the door of the house suddenly opened as if it was blown by a gust of wind. As Lena looked out of the door, she saw that the spirit manipulators guarding the house had fallen to the ground.
"Who is there?" Lena coldly asked.
"Ah, Your Royal Highness, long time no see!" The voice sounded cold and familiar, and then a pretty figure appeared in front of her.
Lena immediately recognized the intruder and exclaimed in surprise, "Alyssa!"
Lena had already heard about the news that Alyssa had defected to Alston, so she knew that it was a bad thing that Alyssa suddenly showed up here.
