The Medallion novel Chapter 1404

Already presumed dead, Rocky made a very unpredictable entrance as he tamed the Demonic Thunder Tiger in the Holy Dragon Empire. Just a few days after he and Glutton left the area, the remaining calamity beasts that attacked the Wild Spirit Land vanished all too sudden overnight. As a result, the peace in the land was restored. Everyone could not help but feel miserable upon seeing the havoc that was left by these creatures. Left and right, destruction met everyone's eyes, leaving them in despair.

On the other hand, no one knew why these beasts suddenly disappeared. However, what concerned them more was where these creatures were heading next. Also, what scared them most was whether these creatures would come back again and cause destruction to their place. With that being said, everyone was on guard as they thought ahead of ways on how to resist them should these creatures return.

On the brighter side, the calamity beasts seemed to have vanished without a trace. This made the other humans and members of the spiritual race hopeful that somehow, they might never really come back.

At that time, only a few of them knew the whole truth. Despite this, they still opted not to tell the public what really happened. All they knew was that Rocky was the one responsible for taming and scaring away the calamity beasts. However, Rocky and Glutton also left them without a trace.

Of course, Marcia, along with those close to Rocky, were very eager to find out where he had gone. But knowing him, they had also accepted the fact that he might never come back again. As far as they were concerned, it was enough for them to know that he was still alive somewhere.

Not long after the disappearance of the calamity beasts, the alliance of the three major empires—the Holy Dragon Empire, the Timber Deity Empire, and the Magic Phoenix Empire—began to clear up the chaos left by the destruction. During this series of disasters, hundreds of millions of humans and members of the spiritual race had lost their lives. This had put the entire Wild Spirit Land into their darkest time after the establishment of the alliance of the major empires.

Things weren't looking good for most of the clans of the spiritual race. In fact, they had put a lot of their efforts and power into warfare, making them suffer heavy casualties. Moreover, the spiritual race's ability to reproduce was very weak, making things worse for them. Without a doubt, they had entered the most difficult period of their decline as they were on the brink of extinction.

But just when everyone thought that the darkest of their days had just gone and that the Wild Spirit Land could now recover from the damages, a series of unexpected events happened in the Gehanna Border, where the three major empires were bordered. There, rumors went around that humans and their livestock kept on disappearing and that even some villages vanished overnight!

From the moment the three major empires formed an alliance, the Gehanna Border had become a major trade channel for businessmen from all the other empires. No longer was it in the middle of raging war all year long. Due to its vast land area, diabolic beasts were often seen there. As a result, the three empires sent armies to guard the order of their border and protect the smooth flow of transactions in business trade.

Thus, it was, of course, unthinkable that something this strange to happen in such a peaceful and orderly place. Moreover, the three empires were at peace with each other, and it was completely out of the ordinary for people and livestock to start disappearing out of the blue for no apparent reason.

Meanwhile, the three empires continued with their task of reconstructing and rehabilitating the Wild Spirit Land. The disappearances kept on happening, but it was not enough to catch the empires' attention. But after half a month, news reached them that an army of a thousand soldiers of the Holy Dragon Empire stationed at the Gehanna Border suddenly vanished overnight, just like the former disappearances, without a trace. Of course, this was something that the three major empires would not take lightly.

On the other hand, the new Commander in Chief of the Crimson Dragon Group, Sabina, immediately got to look into it after she got the news. Without wasting time, she sent a team to investigate the situation out of fear that it might have something to do with the calamity beasts. Led by three squads of spirit manipulators, the team went to the place where the soldiers were said to have disappeared. To everyone's surprise, several days after, the investigation team eventually also lost contact, and their whereabouts were unknown.

With her new position in the Crimson Dragon Group, Sabina dared not to take the situation lightly. Right away, she reported to Marcia, the imperial preceptor of the Holy Dragon Empire.

Upon receiving the news from Sabina, Marcia could not help but worry that this might be the calamity beasts' doing. Immediately, she contacted the Timber Deity Empire and the Magic Phoenix Empire to ask if they had experienced the same thing. To her surprise, the two other empires both confirmed that this also happened to them.
