The Medallion novel Chapter 1638

"Well, did you miss me when we were apart?" Rocky asked as he looked deep into Alyssa's eyes. He put his arms around her waist while the two got lost in each other's gaze.

"What do you think?" Alyssa flirtatiously asked back. After dealing with the Shura Race alone for god knew how long, she wanted nothing more than the sweet embrace of her lover.

"I missed you since the day we parted ways, but I'm afraid after this, we can't see each other again until the battle between the human and spiritual race ends," Rocky said with a deep sigh.

"Do you want to stay with me for a few days?" Alyssa asked eagerly. She had so much to share with the man.

"I'd like to. But the people of the Shura Race must be spying on you right now. If I stayed here, things would only grow more complicated. Plus, I have to go back to the human race army to help them finally end the war..." It hurt Rocky to say those words, but he knew he had to put others before himself.

"You haven't changed at all." Alyssa already knew what Rocky would say, but there was still a hint of sadness and disappointment in her beautiful eyes.

"I promise I'll make it up to you when we get back!" Rocky said to console her.

"Fine. Don't you dare break that promise!" With tears now streaming down her cheeks, she grabbed Rocky by the chin and kissed him one last time.

The two of them locked lips while they treasured the fleeting moment.

In order to avoid unnecessary trouble, Rocky and the girls left the base camp of the spiritual race army at night and went back to their base.

Since Rocky previously forged a deal with the Chief of the Di Clan, Eunice led them to the Soul-suppressing City. This was the only stronghold the human army had that was located at the edge of the battlefield.

The city was once a trading place for the two races but had since stopped when the war broke out. Now it served as an outpost for the human army.

After arriving at the Soul-suppressing City, Rocky and the other two girls went to the base camp to meet the commander in chief, Colton.

As a member of the Di Clan, Colton was not only profound in the arts of cultivation but had a talent for wartime strategies. Many held him to be one of the top-five generals in the history of the human army.

But despite his achievements and sheer talent, Colton's army suffered heavy casualties in a battle against Alyssa's army. This forced them to retreat and defend the last bastion of the human race. Anxiety and desperation ate the esteemed commander in chief's heart during the last few days.

He was more than eager to lead his troops out of the predicament.

Knowing that Rocky would come to them shed a new ray of hope onto Colton. He led several elite commanders out of the camp to welcome them.

"Uncle Colton!" Eunice greeted the commander in chief joyfully.

"Eunice, we haven't seen each other for such a long time. You have grown to become a beautiful woman!" Colton immediately praised his niece with a warm smile.

"Uncle, thank you. I'm flattered. But please don't praise me in front of so many people next time," Eunice said to her uncle as her face turned red in embarrassment.

"Is he Commander Basil?" Colton asked as his eyes drifted towards the young man next to his niece.
