"I can see that you don't agree with each other. Well, for now, let's just wait and see. After all, we still have three months. It's not yet too late to decide once we see what the other Godly Geniuses will do," Gilbert said. He was very cautious.
"Okay then. If there is nothing else, I will take my leave now." As soon as he said that, Rocky turned around and tried to leave.
"Hold on. I have something else to tell you before you go," Gilbert said quickly as he stopped Rocky.
"What is it?" Rocky asked with slightly furrowed brows.
"After careful discussion with the elders, I have decided to let you get engaged to the Godly Genius of the Flower Fief. With this, the two fiefs could enter into an alliance and strengthen each other's bond," Gilbert answered straightforwardly.
"What? No way. Are you kidding me?" Rocky was actually at a loss for words. He did not know if it was funny or shocking because it was not the first time that he had been put in such a situation. He found it ridiculous because most of the time, the only reason for this was to manipulate something.
"Do you take me for a joker?" Gilbert replied sternly.
"Well, can I refuse?" Rocky asked as he lightly shook his head.
"No, you can't. Besides, I am not asking for your permission. I'm just letting you know that it has already been decided. This matter is related to the fate of the Ghost Fief, so the elders and I came up with a decision that we think would be advantageous for us. The alliance with the Flower Fief would benefit us, so you should not complain," Gilbert retorted without a hint of hesitation.
"What is her deal? Is the Godly Genius of the Flower Fief so ugly that no one wanted to marry her? Or is she just eager to find someone to marry as soon as possible?" Rocky asked many questions.
"No, you are wrong. It is said that she is as beautiful as a fairy. She is exceedingly beautiful that she's out of her league," Gilbert replied casually.
"Humph! I don't believe it. If she is so beautiful, why would the Flower Fief use her as a bargaining chip to make an alliance? It makes me think even more that she has an ugly face and a fat body." Rocky had already seen many things in his life. Hence, to get this good of a deal, he could not believe that Gilbert was telling the truth.
"Well, I don't really care if you believe me. You still have to get engaged to her and that is final," Gilbert said firmly. Hearing this, Rocky was rendered speechless.
He then revealed a helpless expression, thinking that it was a bit unfair for him. However, he actually hoped that Gilbert was saying the truth. In case the Godly Genius of the Flower Fief was indeed strikingly beautiful, then she might not like his ordinary looks when she met him, and she might want to call off the engagement.
"That is all. You can go back and cultivate in seclusion. The Godly Genius of the Flower Fief will visit our territory in a few days. I will call for you then so that you can meet her and nurture your relationship with her."
Rocky just nodded his head because he did not really have anything left to say. Eventually, he left the meeting hall.
Upon returning to the Ghost Palace, Rocky immediately complained to Esteban about the engagement that he was being forced into. Hearing this, Esteban could not help but laugh hard.
"Are you laughing at my misery, old man?" Rocky said while pouting.
"Of course, I am laughing at you, stupid brat. Don't you know that it's a good thing for two Godly Geniuses to get married? After all, the two of you can cultivate the dual cultivation method. When you use that, cultivating the pillar of divine power will be twice as fast with just half the effort!" Esteban said excitedly.
"Really? The pillar of divine power can be cultivated by the dual cultivation?" Rocky asked as his eyes narrowed.
"Yes! Its effect will be very good. Once upon a time, two Godly Geniuses also became married. Then, they used the dual cultivation technique to make rapid progress in their divine power. However, their respective fiefs turned against each other in the end. If that did not happen, those two would have achieved greater heights," Esteban recounted.
"Isn't this going to be the same thing? Even if two fiefs became allies, in the end, they would still fight to the death. Am I right?" Rocky asked gloomily.
"Well, yes, that may be true. But before you get there, entering an alliance is far better than be outnumbered by other fiefs!" Esteban elaborated.
"I can't argue to that. So that's it. It seems that I won't be able to escape from this engagement." Rocky knew that since he held the status of being the Godly Genius, he had no right to refuse this engagement.
