The Medallion novel Chapter 1856

"Silly girl! Don't say that. Of course, I will protect you. Otherwise, whom should I protect?" Rocky said with a shake of his head and a smile across his lips. Of course, he knew what was on her mind. Valeria must know that, if he was alone, he could easily break out of the encirclement of the bat-shaped ghostly demons.

His answer stunned Valeria, who didn't expect Rocky to utter something so sweet that it further deepened her love for him. She blushed and lowered her face for a few moments.

"Then what should we do now?" Valeria asked as she raised her head, her dazzling eyes narrowed.

"It appears I'll have to ask Rubygon to take you to the Demon Sealing Palace while I stay behind to cover you." Rocky began to think about it at once. They weren't too far away from the Demon Sealing Palace. Considering Rubygon's tremendous speed and strength, there was a good chance it could break through the siege of these ghostly demons if it rushed at them with all its might. That way, he wouldn't have to worry about Valeria. Without her by his side and somewhere safe, he could focus on dealing with the ghostly demons.

"No, I won't leave you behind. It's too risky for you to face them alone!" Valeria stubbornly protested, a frown on her face. She didn't want him to face danger by himself.

"Don't worry about me. I'll meet you soon!" Rocky said calmly. He then swiftly called out for Rubygon and instructed Valeria to mount it on its back.

"Protect her at all costs. Wait for me in front of the Demon Sealing Palace!" he ordered the beast.

Rubygon let out a roar, low but fierce, as it released a violent spiritual power from deep within. It formed its Spiritual Domain to protect Valeria from harm. Then, like a flash of lightning, it rushed out of the encirclement of the bat-shaped ghostly demons and towards the Demon Sealing Palace.

Naturally, like predators bent on slaughtering their prey, the bat-shaped ghostly demons wouldn't let Rubygon go so easily and immediately chased them.

Out of nowhere, a sharp sword emerged and swiftly cut into the group of ghostly demons.

Bang! A deafening sound reverberated all throughout as the spiritual power exploded among the bat-shaped ghostly demons, killing or injuring many of them. By then, Rubygon was already far away. Realizing they had lost their target, the bat-shaped ghostly demons immediately turned their attention to Rocky with covetous eyes.

Rocky wielded the God-killing Sword in his hand, spiritual power filling his entire body. He no longer had to worry about Valeria. He could now unleash the full potential of his fighting power without holding back, without mercy.

Rocky quickly morphed into a light shadow and rushed towards the band of bat-shaped ghostly demons, the God-killing Sword that he wielded in his hand morphing into a shadow as well. As he swung it into the flesh of those ghostly demons, their corpses all fell into the ground surrounding him.

However, these bat-shaped ghostly demons seemed to come at him like waves in a storm crashing on the shore, ceaseless and relentless. He calculated that it was time to catch up with Valeria and Rubygon. He raised his sword once more, its golden light suddenly lighting up before it pierced the sky hovering above.

After that, Rocky used the God-killing Sword to deal with the rest of the ghostly demons as he charged forward and left a path full of blood and flesh behind him. He then went after Valeria and Rubygon.

It was hard to determine his exact location in the thick black fog. All Rocky could follow was the smell left behind by Rubygon.

He soon lost track of how long he had chased after them. Along the way, he encountered even more ghostly demons that tried to block his way. However, Rocky was a completely merciless killing machine. A few measly ghost demons wouldn't stop him at all.

A few hours later, the black fog gradually dissipated until no trace of it was left. The path before him was now clear.

Rocky spotted a stone bridge, a structure constructed of flat stones that spanned across a crack in the dark, bottomless abyss below. It looked as though it had been split in half by a divine weapon.

On the other side of the stone bridge, the tower-shaped building he had previously seen stood before him. This was where the Demon Sealing Palace was located. Upon closer inspection, the Demon Sealing Palace looked even more ghostly and demonic. Despite this, it still gave off an aura of reverence where gods and demons would frequent.

Although there was still a long distance between him and the Demon Sealing Palace, Rocky could already feel the strong pull of the evil aura rushing towards him. It was an indescribable sense of oppression that would make any normal person's heart tremble. If he was a little weaker and didn't have the strength to resist such a force, he feared that even simply crossing the stone bridge would be difficult.
