The Medallion novel Chapter 1940

But for Alex and others to escape from the crystal palace, Rocky had no choice but to hold on and buy them as much time as he could.

Suddenly, a delicate figure appeared beside Rocky just as he was about to slip. The woman promptly let loose a barrage of divine-level martial spirit and blocked a part of the pressure weighing Rocky down.

To Rocky's surprise, it was Vivian!

"Why are you still here? You should have left with Alex and the others!"

With a scowl on his face, Rocky immediately protested her presence. Although Vivian was almost as strong as him, she didn't cultivate a divine body. If Rocky, who had a divine body, couldn't withstand the devil spirit's power, how could she?

"I can't leave you behind. If anything bad happens to you, the holy maiden will blame me,"

insisted Vivian resolutely.

"Do you mean Holy Maiden Violet? I didn't expect her spirit lives in your body..."

It was also at this time that the devil spirit noticed the divine-level martial spirit that Vivian had unleashed. Evidently, its presence thrilled the devil spirit.

"How do you know my divine spirit's name?" Vivian asked in surprise, her eyes widening slightly.

Upon hearing this, Rocky suddenly felt like something was really wrong.

The voice continued, "I loved her, but she died in that war between gods and demons. I then risked my life to get out of the Holy-Evil World just so I could look for her lost spirit. However, I didn't expect that I would be sealed here. Nevertheless, finding her spirit now is an immense stroke of luck. I don't have to be alone anymore. Now, let me attach myself to this boy, so I can stay with my beloved from now on!" After these words, the devil spirit went berserk, and its evil energy flew into a frenzy.

Rocky and Vivian seemed to realize something at this moment. The spirit in Vivian's body must have had a relationship with the devil spirit, which was strictly prohibited.

This revelation made Rocky's heart skip a beat. If the devil spirit had really possessed him, he would have been in great trouble.

"Run! I'll stop him!" Vivian shouted at Rocky immediately, as she had jumped unto the same conclusion that Rocky had. The consequences would be unimaginable if Rocky was possessed!

"Neither of you can get out of here! Myriad Demon Skill!" The devil spirit gave a shout as it raised its hands in the sky. In an instant, the entire hall was filled with black spiritual marks that flew all over the walls.

Then, Rocky's and Vivian's bodies began to lose control.

Countless black thorns abruptly jutted out of the ground and slithered through the hall's expanse.

Since her body was out of control, Vivian couldn't avoid the creeping thorny vines, and they quickly pierced her hands and feet. A sharp cry of pain escaped her gritted mouth.

On the other hand, Rocky narrowly escaped the same fate with the help of his divine body. He forced himself to come to Vivian's aid, gathering her in his arms as she bled profusely.

Since she didn't have a divine body, the demonic spiritual power's forceful impact was too strong for her. After sustaining grave injuries, she soon passed out.

Rocky cradled Vivian. They were at a great disadvantage right now, as the shadow seemed exceedingly powerful. Even if he tried his best, he doubted he could escape unscathed. What he needed to do was to take Vivian to a safe place first, and then he would play it by ear.

With that decided, Rocky pushed all his strength into his God-killing Sword and struck the ground as hard as he could. The powerful sword aura instantly broke through the ground, opening an enormous crater beneath them.

It turned out that the secret passage Rocky and the two women had used earlier passed through here as well, and the collapse had exposed it to Rocky.

He immediately gripped Vivian tighter in his arms, jumped into the secret passage, and fled for their lives.

The devil spirit didn't expect that Rocky would do such a thing, but it only grinned and followed him into the secret passage.
