Samantha nodded again, her gaze falling on the scars on Finley’s body. She had wanted to ask him about them for the longest time. They looked like burn marks, but she was afraid of bringing up painful memories, so she had never asked. 

She raised her hand, placing it on Finley’s chest. Their eyes met, and Finley asked, “There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask you for a while now.”
