Elain glanced around the room, noticing that Finley wasn’t there. Curious, she asked Samantha, “Where’s Mr. Dean? His arm was injured saving me. Is he alright 

“The doctor bandaged him up. He’s fine now. He just stepped out to get a doctor to check on me. He’ll be back soon, so you can wait here.” 

Elain raised an eyebrow, feeling something odd in Samantha’s tone. 

“From the way you talk, it sounds like you’re quite close with Mr. Dean. Have you known each other for a long time?” 

“Yes.” 

“And he is…?” 

“My husband.” 

Elain’s eyes widened in disbelief. 

“You… you’re married to Mr. Dean?” 

Samantha nodded. “Yes, but we haven’t made it public yet, so it’s still a secret. Please keep it to yourself, Elain. I don’t want too many people knowing about our relationship just yet.” 

Elain gave her a strange look before responding, “Don’t worry, I’ll keep your secret safe, Samantha.” 

“Sam.” 

Just as Elain finished speaking, the door opened. Finley entered the room with a doctor in tow. He came over to Samantha, nodded at Elain, who was sitting next to her, and then ignored her as he had the doctor examine Samantha. 

Once the doctor was done, Finley couldn’t hold back his worry any longer. “How is she? Is Sam going to be alright?” 

“She seems fine for now,” the doctor replied. 

“For now?” 

His voice turned cold as he grabbed the doctor by the collar. “You better guarantee she’ll be fine for the rest of her life. Or else…” The threat lingered in the air. 

The doctor, fully aware of Finley’s status, trembled slightly. He had no doubt that Finley meant every word. Yet, all he could do was tell the truth., 

“Mr. Dean, the test results just came in. Would you like to come with me to review them? I can explain your 

wife’s condition in detail afterward” ” 

Finley released the doctor’s shirt and turned to Samantha. “Sam, stay here and rest. I’ll be back shortly.” 

Samantha nodded, watching as he left with the doctor.
