Rosie kept a cold, distant attitude, looking down on Harlan as she sat gracefully in the executive chair. She kept her gaze fixed on Harlan, who looked messy and sprawled out on the sofa.

“What will I gain by helping you?” she asked.

On the brink of desperation, Harlan nearly wanted to kneel to beg for her help. With the Moreno family unable to produce a single penny and his accounts frozen, he now relied on his uncle’s generosity just to get by.

He said, “Miss Harper, I can’t offer you anything. My family’s assets are tied up due to the ongoing investigation. That’s why I’m begging you now. If the Moreno family’s luck turns around, your kindness will never be

“Have you come up with a plan?” she asked.

Shaking his head, Harlan admitted, “I don’t have a solid plan now. But you’re well–connected. You know people with criminal connections, right? Maybe you could find people willing to do something to them.”
