Chapter 1606: The Chrono Spear

Rowan could barely stand. The burst of golden light spewing from his body upon the destruction of his soul had begun to slow to a trickle, and now his size has shrunken once more.

The blood of his dimensional soul, like liquid starlight, poured out of the numerous lacerations all over his body, dripping into the void. However, unlike the deaths of his dimensional soul, which released his vitality and were then seized by the stars of death that were still overhead and feeding upon his seemingly endless lifeforce, the blood of his dimensional soul could be used before it was all gone.

Rowan smiled in sadness and raised his left hand.

And Reality answered.

Rowan’s command over spells was unmatched, but he had always preferred fighting with the blade. Being close up with the enemy, where everything was placed in the line, and he had to be beyond perfect in order to win, was a massive thrill to his senses.

His soul had become the conductor for all the spells that he knew, and now that he was seeing so much potential pour out into Reality, the feelings of sadness filled his consciousness.

Rowan had no means to control the fundamental forces of creation with a broken soul, but Reality could recognize the authority in the blood of his soul, and they responded to him.

On his upraised hand, supernovae ignited at his calling, their fires lancing into lances of pure destruction.

Black holes in number beyond counting twisted into orbits around his arm, their crushing weight sending out so much pressure that the armor of the Archon was rippling, but Rowan was safe from these forces.

Reality twisted around Rowan and shattered as the forces that had grown around him became truly ridiculous.

Directing his hand towards the Archon, he unleashed all the forces that had been gathering around him, and the Archon could barely respond before it was drowned under the endless tides of power conjured from every corner of Reality from the past to the present.

The Destroyer released a metallic scream of anger and pain. Individually, all of these attacks were nothing before the might of the Archon, but in the numbers that Rowan was releasing, they could crush all of creation, and it was not yet over.

Reality saw his sadness, and it responded to the blood of his soul. Time fractured as echoes of dead heroes and gods flooded this space, their cry of rage at the enemy who shattered the brightest light in all creation could be heard on all corners of reality as they fell down on the Archon, their spectral hands clawing at the Destroyer’s hull.

The Archon staggered under the rage of Reality. Even Primordial Memory had to rise above the chaos. Something unexpected was growing inside his eyes as he saw what was happening, and a vague suspicion was beginning to dawn on this primordial.

Something about Rowan was intensely strange, and even though he had allocated all sorts of excuses and grand understanding to understand how he was able to achieve what he was able to achieve, it was not enough.

Primordial Memory frowned. He sent a vast pulse of power into the Archon; he was no longer comfortable observing Rowan continue performing miracles.

The Reality Core of the Archon pulsed as it was flooded with power, the vibration that erupted from the Archon traveled out in a wave as it rewrote Reality.

Space inverted. Rowan’s storm of power turned against him, the forces of creation he had unleashed froze mid-strike before reversing towards him, and he could only hold his blade in defense before he was drowned under the might of his spells.

The weakness of this move was revealed at this moment. He lacked control over his spells, and so it was easy for the Archon to wrest power away from him.

If he were fighting against Celestial Creators or any other immortals, they would not have been able to seize so much power away from him, but against Primordials, Rowan found those that had exceeded him.

"I never thought it would get to this point. How are you still alive? I cannot believe that I lost the bet to Demon. Rowan, your stubbornness is meaningless. No matter how high you climb, there will be another step in front of you. Gilded Maw, surely you did not believe there were only two levels to that weapon."
