Chapter 421
The white curtains in the bedroom fluttered with the wind, just like a beautiful scene from a movie. She picked up her phone, only to find a new order worth a whopping billion for a straightforward task, to be kinder to the people around her.
She was puzzled. What was going on? Did the person place the order by mistake? Was she really going to get a billion for being a little nicer to people? Was this some sick joke? But the money was already transferred into her account, and the task was automatically activated.
Sighing, she opened the chat box and sent a question mark. After that, she got up to tidy up and headed downstairs.
Romeo stood by the huge floor–to–ceiling window, tall and straight. He held a glass of red wine and stared at the scenery outside, deep in thought.
“Didn’t you take a nap?” Arabella thought Romeo would rest after wrapping up his work. But there he was, standing by the window. Was he dealing with some tricky issue?
“Are you awake? Romeo turned around, placed the wine glass on the waiter’s tray, and walked towards Arabella.
He gently touched her cheek, gave her a peck, and asked, “Did you stay up late again last night?”
“No.”
“I’ve arranged for afternoon tea. Let’s enjoy it in the garden.” Romeo took her hand, his tone soft.
As the butler placed the items on the garden table, he couldn’t help but steal another glance at Arabella. Ms. Bella looked even more stunning than the last time he saw her. Perhaps it was because she just woke up, her eyes sparkling like stars in the sky. Mr. McMillian was indeed lucky to have her as his better partner.
“You were sleeping so soundly,” Romeo whispered. “Do you like my bed, or is it my scent?”
Arabella suddenly realized, “Did you come in earlier? So, my phone,”
Did he see it?
Romeo smiled. She was indeed quick to catch on.
“When I was covering you with the quilt, your phone fell. You forgot to lock the screen.”
“So, you saw everything? The person who placed the order was you?”
“It was Carl who placed the order, but yes, I instructed him to do so.”
It turned out, they initially wanted to hire Arabella, a top–tier hacker, to crack a system. But when they discovered her true identity, he added another billion to the offer.
No wonder only he would do something like this, spending a billion just to make her treat him a bit better?
“Am I not good enough for you usually?” Arabella raised an eyebrow.
“You’re pretty good.” Romeo fed her a piece of cake, “But if you could be better,”
