Chapter 687
While it was quite alluring watching Arabella engrossed in her work, he didn’t want to be stuck in the lab all day, feeling like some sort of statue.
So, he cleared his throat, “Bella.”
“Hold on.” Arabella was completely absorbed in her screen. Only after a while, she asked, “What’s up?”
Romeo glanced at the time. It had already been half an hour since Arabella had last acknowledged him.
“It’s been half an hour.”
Arabella, “No way?”
Had it really been half an hour?
She was just inputting some data. How did time fly so fast?
Seeing his ignored presence, Arabella decided to save her work and ask, “Alright, what’s on the agenda for today?”
Considering all the equipment he bought for the lab, she planned to accompany him.
“I want to take you somewhere.”
Arabella’s eyes instantly lit up, “More equipment?”
Romeo didn’t expect equipment to have such a high place in her heart, and he felt a bit down, “Just me, do you want or not?”
“That worked too.” Arabella’s enthusiasm faded a bit.
Romeo was speechless.
Apparently, he really couldn’t compete with lab equipment,
Leaving the house, Arabella looked back somewhat reluctantly, “Pick me up tomorrow.”
Romeo wanted to be happy about it but then realized she was only coming for the equipment, which made him feel a bit bummed out.
“Once I finish my experiments. I’ll have more time for you” Arabella seemed to read his mind and smiled at him.
“When you’re done, more experiments will be waiting for you.” Romeo knew that for her, there was no end to experiments.
Having a fiancee so passionate about research, he had no choice but to play along:
Just then, a car violently hit theirs. Romeo instinctively shielded Arabella in his arms. Carl, who was driving, yelled out, “Mr. McMillian, Arabella, watch out, we are being ambushed.”
Another car hit them from behind. Romeo tightly held Arabella, his eyes filled with rage.
He didn’t care about himself, but if the assailants dared to scare Arabella.
They were surrounded by cars on both sides. Another car was closely pursuing from behind. Carl glanced at the rear–view mirror, then checked the situation on both sides, “Mr. McMillian, Arabella, buckle up.”
They had to force their way out now, or else the consequences of being surrounded were unpredictable.
