" Zed," Soraya knocked on his door. She had been to his office and he wasn't around. He checked the restaurant as well yet he wasn't there.
" Hi Ma'am." a young maid opened the door.
" Is Zed around?" she inquired of him from her.
" I'm sorry but Mr Velasquez travelled for business this morning," she told her.
" Oh, thank you," she replied turning on her heels.
" Is there anything I could tell him or any information I could get across to him for you?" she asked.
" JUST LET I---
" I'm sorry for yelling, I will try getting in touch with him. Thanks for your help," she responded hurrying to her car.
But why wasn't he answering her calls?
Was he ignoring her?
Didn't he want her no more?
Those questions run through her mind as she slightly banged her head on the stirring wheel. Her phone rang several times before she answered it.
" Mom?" she impatiently called not interested in what she had to say.
" Good day to you too." her mom greeted.
" What is it, mom?" she asked again.
" You don't sound alright, are you okay?" her mom demanded to know.
" I am fine mom, cut to the chase please," she begged.
" If you say so, how did it go convincing your brother to come work for us? Did he accept?" she crossed her fingers hoping for a positive reply.
" He still stands on his ground. He's not coming, and I somehow understand him. You and dad showed him no love and you expect him to come work for you?" she raised her voice.
" Soraya, are you on his side?" she raised her brows.
" There are no sides her mother, you never loved him and Hailey. Ever wondered why Hailey went to an aviation school? She did that to get away from you and your husband. You only care about your business and nothing more. Yes, I was the scapegoat. If I had the courage to decline your offer maybe, just maybe I would be close with my siblings." she poured out her heart.
" You know what, I'd talk to you later, goodbye." she dropped the call and started her car and drove off.
" Girlfriend problems?" his friend asked him as Zed turned off his phone.
" You could say that again." he sighed.
" Running away from her wouldn't solve the problem at hand," Cole advised.
" I know but, she's-----
" Complicated? A hard but to crack? Arrogant?" Cole finished for him as he nodded in agreement.
" Each and every woman differ in their own ways. Maybe all those proved that she cares about you, but is in a state of denial just like you are." he pinpointed.
" I'm not in---
" Don't try to deny the fact that you're in denial. It's spelt all over your face." he teased.
" Not funny Cole, not funny." he scolded.
" I'm being serious Zed, sort whatever problems you have with her out. She is the one you love. Sit her down and talk to her, that's when you get back home. For now, call her or answer her calls at least." he added.
" Okay, I've heard you." he sipped from his glass.
This thing called love, aye.
