Maxwell knew he had to work on his confidence. Mona had told him repeatedly that he was the only man in his heart. However, he couldn’t help but think that Teddy was her first love. He was the first man she had fallen for and suspected there was still a small room left for Teddy in Mona’s heart, Moreover, they had a close relationship since high school, and they had been together since they entered university, 

From childhood companionship, the romance in high school, and four years of dating in university, Maxwell grew afraid that Mona would rekindle her feelings for Teddy. After all, he and Mona had only been together for less than a year. He was not confident.

Suddenly, Mona felt her hand grabbed by a person beside her. She looked up and saw Maxwell. There was no smile on his face. He was jealous, and his thumb was circling on her palm. 

Mona couldn’t believe he was insecure yet again. So, she quickly opened her hand, letting it interlock with Maxwell’s fingers to give him a sense of security. Maxwell took the opportunity to hold Mona’s hand tightly. He even took a step forward and showed off his love for Mona before Teddy. 

Seeing his behavior, Mona wanted to chuckle. Maxwell was domineering, but he was also quite childish. Even so, Mona did. not let go of Maxwell’s hand and played along to make him feel at ease. 

Then, she said to Teddy, “We’re even. From now on, you should think more about your family, especially your mother.” 

Mona’s words killed the last bit of hope in Teddy’s heart. Not only did she reject his feelings, but she also felt burdened by it 

Teddy did not say anything else. Instead, he revealed a bitter smile. Even without turning his head, he could feel Maxwell’s, cold gaze, causing his body to shiver.

“Yes, I know that this is my issue, but I can’t help but think about it. Don’t worry, I’m learning to compromise,” Maxwell said seriously. Mona gave him a sense of security and had assured him many times. He didn’t want to be a burden for her.
