"Who is playing a wicked game, Nathaniel?"
Nathaniel frowned, stomping his feet on the ground while moving closer to the young man, creating an annoying staccato. But the young man stood still, firm and unblinking. There was no hint of fear In his eyes and Nathaniel wondered why.
Anyone standing where he stood would have taken a step backward as Nathaniel approached, but the young man's composure remains firm. Nathaniel hadn't seen anyone so brazen in such a long time, not even Alexandra could stand in her tracks the first day they had met.
"You seem rather brazen for a young man of your age"
"Brazen? I don't see myself as that"
"What then do you perceive yourself to be?"
"Nothing at all" The young man wasn't ready to reveal his identity, it would be something he hopes Nathaniel would figure along while they played their little game of hide and seek.
Nathaniel laughs although not hysterical but in a manner that showed he was close to losing his temper and ripping his head out. "No one perceives themselves to be nothing. I perceive myself as an Alpha since I am, what then are you? An Alpha?"
"Anything" He left out the "deal with it", although from his scowl he'd heard his unspoken challenge.
"Anything?" Nathaniel throws back the answer seeking to get a clearer response but the young man could see right through him and so he gave him a vivid answer. "Yes, anything that you want me to be"
Nathaniel narrowed his eyes sharply sensing his challenge. "Stop playing games with me"
"Look at the beautiful trees Nathaniel" He averts his eyes towards the trees brushing against each other while a light breeze blows them.
"What about them?"
"What do you think happens when they die?"
Nathaniel frowned, annoyed by the riddles he was throwing at him when all he wanted to do was disappear and appear right next to Alexandra.
"I'm not in the mood for some silly mind games"
"This isn't a game Nathaniel" His stern voice causes Nathaniel to shrug. "Isn't it?"
"It isn't"
From the look of things, Nathaniel realizes he wasn't speaking to the same young man anymore. This could mean he was about to unravel the mystery around him and he wasn't going to take chances.
Once he was done with him, he would head straight for Alexandra to help her like he intended to.
The young man squared his chin stubbornly In an attempt to push Nathaniel to talk back at him, giving him the satisfaction that he intends to achieve. "The tree grows back"
"All kinds of trees?"
"How am I supposed to know that?"
"Aren't you smart" The young man lowers down a little and plucks a flower. "You been rumored to be smart, is it overrated or just st a fallacy?"
Nathaniel glares at him, his oval face, though like the rest of him went unnoticed by the young man who was now lost staring at the beautiful flowers.
"Those are for women" Nathaniel tactfully decided to let the words be trapped in his throat and than be let loose when he hasn't figured out who he was.
"These are for women," The young man said as though sensing the words running through Nathaniel's head. But Nathaniel chooses to remain silent. He wasn't going to let him manipulate him like he intends to.
