Adam blinked and burst into laughter, he had thought it was going to be easy to fool her but seeing how she saw right through him suddenly made him realize that Alexandra wasn't the type to be easily fooled. She yearned for his blood just like a hunter yearns for his prey when he sets a trap in the forest and somewhere in his heart.
Fear began to dwell like a settlement and Adam wasn't sure if he had invited it in or if Alexandra had knowingly inflicted it upon him. Whatever it was, he wasn't going to let himself be swayed by her nor was he going to give up what he truly wanted from her.
Right there and then, Adam decided that he was going to take the Alpha position from her and he was going to do it even if he ends up killing her again.
"You got lucky the last time"
"You mean in the woods?" She asked wanting to confirm her suspicion as it had clues of an escape plan into this prison.
"Yes"
"Please Adam don't replace your incompetence with lucky"
Adam arched up his brow at her, she was challenging him and that was what he hated about her the most. Those daring eyes made him feel so little in her eyes when all he wanted was to feel big like Olivia made him feel.
He was one of the strongest men in the pack, he was the Alpha in his household, and the pack adored him even though he wasn't that handsome. He had the perfect kill for the body, his lips were what most girls in the pack wanted to kiss when they come to the pack pretending to be training while all they do is drool over like some piece of cake.
"My incompetence?"
"Yes, your incompetence certainly aided to my advantage and just like the smart Alpha that I am. I beat you to it once again"
Adam smirked trying so hard to hide the anger piling up inside him. "What about now? You walked right into my trap"
Alexandra shrugged. "You call this a trap" she stomps her feet against the ground making an annoying staccato.
"You can't get away now Alexandra"
"Should we bet?" She arched up her brow at him, challengingly but Adam wasn't going to accept the challenge.
He had bigger plans and so he wasn't going to play silly games with her, today was going to be the day that he dreamt about. The day that has left him awake wide in the night, and he would end up whispering her name, waiting on her to appear.
"I'd love to bet on that but you see, I have bigger plans" He winked at her and she glared back at him.
"You unscrupulous fellow!" She seethes
"What?" Adam wasn't quite sure where the words dug up from.
"How dare you wink at me as though I belong to you"
"Cut me some slack, I never said anything about a mate. Which reminds me, by the way, I don't see your Alpha anywhere"
"Keep him out of your damned mouth!" She snapped, feeling agitated. She wasn't going to stand and watch him talk about Nathaniel ever again. That was in the past when her plans mattered more than him, now she wanted him as much as she wanted her revenge.
