The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha novel Chapter 174

"Fine have it your way" Adam turns to one of his guards.

"Take them" He ordered and Alexandra widened her eyes.

"This isn't what I wanted"

"Well you gave me no choice. You are going to give me the position so is best I take you with me, that way you won't try anything stupid"

Alexandra frowned but choose to stay silent. She stared at the two guards as they picked up Nathaniel.

"Don't you dare hurt him" Alexandra said as they guards held him firmly on their shoulder.

"Shut your mouth Alexandra or we will have to throw him into the river so he can drown"

Then I will drown with him. She left her word unsaid. As if Adam read her mind he narrowed his eyes sharply and put away the sword lest he used it to strike her.

"Move" He commands and Alexandra found her feet moving towards the door. Keeping up with the pace of the guards carrying Nathaniel.

Her heart aches. Seeing him like that made her sad. Who would have thought the fight would end so badly. But this wasn't just a simple fight, Alexandra could sense it.

She felt it in her gut that Adam did something, but just what? What ever he did hurt Nathaniel so badly and that is something Alexandra couldn't take.

She glanced over at Adam and he glanced back at her, sensing she had something running through her mind, he said. " Whatever you are thinking, you better not do it lest I decapitate his head and make you drink his blood"

The terror in his voice made her body shiver but what was he implying. Was he implying that… did he think she would… He actually thought she was planning on tricking them and running away. That's insane!

She could never run away, not when Nathaniel was badly injured and needed time to recover.

"Not that I owe you an explanation but it would be stupid of me to run away. Not when you have Nathaniel in captivity and he is badly injured"

"Is good we have an understanding Alexandra"

"We have no understanding. Your twisted mind is probably thinking if you made the right choice or if I am just deceiving you into believing that I don't want to run but do you want to know the truth?"

Adam halted. The truth didn't matter but he couldn't bring himself to refuse hearing her speak her mind. "Yes I do"

"I will love to get on my way, I will love to take Nathaniel and go far away. Far away from your sight Adam Hawthorn. I want nothing to do with you"

Adam didn't doubt her words but he couldn't shake off the weird feeling he'd all these while. She wanted revenge, is what she always wanted but now it seemed as though It didn't matter anymore.

The only thing lingering in her mind is an urge to save Nathaniel.

"Well that would not be taken into account"

"You're the one who wanted to hear my thoughts"

"And as I predicted. It was stupid, now move. I can't wait any longer to be the Alpha" Adam begins walking towards the guards that were now far ahead of them.

"And then what?" She trails behind him.
