Chapter 91
Chapter 91
Valencia’s POV:
When I hear the bed creak, the first thing I feel is the dull ache radiating through my body, as if I’d been hit by a freight
train.
A very persistent, very insatiable freight train.
I groaned softly, shifting slightly on the bed. Surprisingly, the soreness wasn’t nearly as bad as I had expected, considering what I’d endured. The memories came in waves–hazy and blurred at first, then sharp and vivid.
Dante. His touch, his strength, his relentless passion.
It took me a moment to realize the truth of it. He hadn’t just ravaged me. He’d healed me, over and over, with every bite, every kiss, every….
I felt my cheeks burn as I buried my face in the pillow, groaning into the soft fabric.
How had I survived that?
The thought made me shudder. By the second night, I’d realized what he was doing–using his spiritual energy to repair the damage he inflicted as we went. Otherwise, I was fairly certain I wouldn’t be alive right now.
Still, my body felt heavy, and my throat ached from screaming so much. My lips curled into a faint smile despite myself. If I was being honest, I didn’t regret it. Not even a little.
I would definitely need snacks for next time, though. I couldn’t survive on a diet of water and Dante’s cum….
I groaned inwardly again. Next time?
The blush on my face deepened. Yes, I was already thinking about next time.
It was strange. After everything–after he marked me without me permission–I should have felt trapped. Panicked. Angry,
even.
But I didn’t.
Maybe it was selfish of me, but the way Dante craved me, the way he had begged me to leave and then held me so tightly as though he couldn’t let go–it made me feel… cherished. Loved. Something I was realizing that I had never felt with Jaxon.
I sighed as I tried to push those thoughts away. My body ached, yes, but my heart? My heart felt strangely light,
A rush of cool air swept over me, and I blinked up to see Dante standing over me.
He was shirtless–thankfully wearing pants this time–and his hair was a messy tangle of dark strands falling over his forehead. His chest glistened faintly with sweat, and his sharp jawline was clenched tight.
“D–Dante?” My voice came out hoarse, scratchy from days of screaming his name, and I immediately flushed, pressing my lips together.
He was silent for a long while.
But his brows furrowed, and I could see the worry etched into his expression. “How are you feeling?”

The faintest smile curved his lips, but it didn’t reach his eyes. There was something else there–something darker.
“What’s wrong?” I asked softly, my voice still raspy.

Dante shook his head, running a hand through his hair. “You don’t think anything’s wrong?” he asked, his tone quiet, almost
wry.
I frowned at his expression, watching as a strange expression flickered across his face. It hit me like a punch to the gut.
Wait.
He couldn’t be….
Was he… regretting it?

A sudden knock at the door startled–both of us, breaking the tension that had filled the room. Dante glanced at me, his lips pressing into a thin line. “Stay here,” he said firmly before turning to answer the door.
Moments later, he returned with a large serving trolley. My eyes immediately latched onto the familiar glow of Castor’s egg, nestled safely among the food and clothes on the tray.
“Castor,” I whispered, relief flooding through me as Dante brought the egg to me first. I didn’t even care about the food or anything else—my hands reached out, trembling, as I cradled the egg against my chest.
“Oh, my sweet boy,” I murmured, pressing soft kisses to the smooth surface. “You’ve been such a good boy, haven’t you? Mommy’s here.”
Castor sent waves of comfort through our connection, and I felt my heart swell with affection.

Dante stood nearby, watching us with an expression I couldn’t quite read. There was a softness in his eyes, but his body seemed tense, like he was holding something back.
“Valencia,” he said quietly, his voice drawing my attention.
I glanced up, still holding Castor close. “Yes?”
He hesitated, his hands fidgeting at his sides before he finally spoke. “I… I should put ointment on you.”
My brows furrowed in confusion. “Ointment?”
“For your injuries,” he clarified, his gaze darting away as if he couldn’t meet my eyes.

But instead of touching my back, I felt his hands gently pull me onto my back. The blanket slipped lower, revealing my nakedness below, and I flushed crimson, grabbing the edge of the blanket to pull it back up.
“What are you doing?” I demanded, my voice high and nervous.
