Zane and I returned to the office together. I sat on the couch and tried to recall everything that had happened between my mother and that prick.

The more I thought about it, the calmer I became.

After taking a deep breath, I contacted a courier. When they arrived, I handed over the documents and instructed them to deliver them to their destination.

After confirming the courier had left, I headed upstairs, stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, and took out a pair of binoculars. Peering down, I saw the courier veer off to a side street, stopping next to a parked car before handing the documents to someone else.

I lowered the binoculars and scoffed.

It seemed that he still hadn't adapted to the modern world even after all these years.

Did he really think that in this day and age, delivering evidence still required a physical handover—a method that was not only risky but prone to getting lost?

He must still see me as that naive high school kid who hadn't grown up.

After that, I turned on my computer and started sketching.

Zane walked over and asked, "What were you looking at?"

Without much thought, I replied, "Just some clowns who think too highly of themselves."

Zane looked a little surprised.

I was afraid he would not understand what I meant, so I explained, "A few years ago, I caused someone to suffer a significant loss. Now, he's constantly on guard, convinced I'll use the same methods against him. He even assumes I'll transport evidence the same way I did back then. Isn't that just ridiculous?"

Zane nodded. "It does seem a bit foolish."
