Julia snapped, "You were the other woman who ruined Casper and Ruby's relationship—"

"Wait." Jessica cut her off. She had never denied being a mistress before, but she hadn't come between Casper and Ruby.

"Casper told me he was single before we started dating and that he didn't have a girlfriend at all. What exactly are you trying to say? Are you telling me Casper lied to me?" she asked.

Back then, her moral compass had been pretty intact. If she'd known Casper had a girlfriend, there was no way she would've been with him.

Julia knew Jessica inside out. Whenever Jessica messed up, she owned it—at least, that was how she acted in front of Julia and Gary.

Julia narrowed her eyes. "You're still lying, even now?"

"I can call Casper if you don't believe me," Jessica snapped, clearly pissed. "If you're right, that means Casper kept the fact that he had a girlfriend from me and still got together with me, so he's the one to blame!"

"Hello?" he answered the call, sounding eager.

"I need to ask you something, and I want the truth," Jessica said, trying to keep her anger in check.
