Jenny figured if she spoke first, she could take control of the situation.
Sasha glanced at Jenny, then at Shane. "She's your ex?"
Shane didn't want to admit it, but he couldn't lie. "Yeah."
Sasha didn't even bother hiding the disgust in her voice. "Wow. That's pretty dumb of you. What did you even see in her? And now she's claiming I'm after your money? Doesn't she know this company is ours?"
She turned to Jenny. "As one of the owners, I can drop by whenever I want to check on the business. Do I still need your permission?"
Jenny never thought Sasha could be this pushy. In a panic, she looked at Shane, hoping he'd step in, but he deliberately turned away.
Realizing she was on her own, Jenny straightened up and snapped, "Why don't you visit another time? Why show up when Shane and I are trying to work things out? You're obviously trying to stir things up between us!"
"Did you tell me you were coming?" Sasha asked, ignoring her question.
Jenny shook her head. "No."
Sasha shrugged. "Well, there you go. How was I supposed to know when you'd be here if you didn't give me a heads-up?"
Not wanting to drag it on, she headed toward the elevator. "Shane, wrap things up with your ex and get upstairs. We've got to talk about the company."
"Got it," Shane replied.
Now that Sasha had spoken, he knew he had to prioritize work. He gave Jenny a cold stare. "You need to leave."
Jenny knew it was game over for her if she got kicked out this time. She grabbed Shane's hand fast.
"What if I just wait until you're done with Sasha, and then we can meet up?" she asked.
