The Return of the Disguised Princess novel Chapter 186

Chapter 186 Solve the Misunderstanding

With a creak, the door was closed, and a tall and straight figure stood at the door.

The person who came was Lamont.

During the day, because of Belen’s obstruction, he was unable to visit Arnelie successfully. At night, he found an opportunity and slipped in while the bodyguards were arranging other matters.

He walked slowly to Amelie’s bed and looked at her sleeping face, but his heart was heavy.

He couldn’t help but think of the misunderstandings between them. He once caused her so much harm, and now he thinks about it and regrets it.

He thought, “This time she was finally able to stay by my side. No matter what happens, I want to protect her and not let her get hurt in the slightest.”

Lamont swore in his heart, then sat by the bed, grabbed Amelie’s hand, and looked at her affectionately.

He has never understood his mind like now. For so many years, he had not looked at the woman in front of him carefully. His five–year marriage with her seems to be still yesterday.

Recalling that she endured everything and suffered all kinds of grievances for herself, he blamed himself endlessly.

The night was so quiet, Lamont quietly stood by her side and was reluctant to part.

In the early morning of the second day, the sun lazily shone through the window and shone on the hospital bed.

Only then did Amelie open her eyes.

Last night, she originally had a dream that left her with lingering fears, but for some reason, she felt a lot more at ease afterwards.

She was about to sit up, but found that her right hand was being grabbed.

Amelie was immediately alert, and quickly looked over, only to find a man lying beside her bed.

he is…

Amelie’s subtle movements woke up Lamont who hadn’t slept soundly. He quickly raised his head and looked at Amelie who was staring at him, and his eyes became flustered.

Lamont asked, “You’re awake, do you want some water?”

Only then did Lamont quickly let go of her hand, and then picked up the kettle beside him to pour water.

“Why are you here?” Amelie’s tone was very cold, and she looked at him seriously.

Lamont did not answer immediately, but poured water and handed it to her.

He said, “Drink some water first.”

Amelie said, “I am asking you, why did you come in?”

Amelie glanced at the water glass, but didn’t pick it up.

“I haven’t seen you in the past few days. I want to come and see you. The people who protect you during the day will not let

you in, so I came in at night.”

Lamont avoided meeting her gaze and explained simply.

“Mr. Byron, you really impressed me, and I invite you to go out now. I don’t welcome you here.”

Amelie’s attitude remained the same. There was no room for negotiation at all.

“You’re not in good health now, so don’t get angry easily. The weather is fine today. After breakfast, I’ll take you out for a walk.”

Lamont still didn’t take her words to heart, and walked into the bathroom after speaking.

Amelie looked at his back with mixed feelings in her heart.

At this time, his courtesy had no effect on her.

Immediately afterwards, Lamont walked out with a water basin.

“Wash your face. I think the nurse will bring breakfast in a while. I want to talk to you after breakfast.”

She said, “Mr. Byron, what can I talk to you about? Please don’t disturb my life anymore. Since the Chang family has gone bankrupt and all those things have passed, there is nothing to talk about between me and you. If you just want to explain the previous things to me, there is no need and I have already forgotten.”

Lamont said, “Really? Have you forgotten all?”

Lamont asked back, looking at Amelie with distressed eyes.
