The Return of the Disguised Princess novel Chapter 227

Chapter 227 Falling into a Trap

Lamont’s face was growing serious as he caught a whiff of the smell.

He saw the light immediately.

“It looks like someone wants to get rid of us…” Lamont whispered, then grabbed Amelie’s wrist and pulled her into his arms.

“There must be gas coming in from every corner. We’d better breathe slowly and try to find a more breathable place to stay.”

“A breathable place?”

Amelie did a double–take and felt a little incredible.

“Yes, come on. There is water here. Let’s cover our mouths and noses!”

While talking, Lamont took off his shirt and tore it into strips. Then he soaked it in water, and handed it to Amelie.

“Cover your mouth and nose, and hold your breath.”

“Does this work?” Amelie questioned.

“Whether it works or not, at least it can save your life.”

Lamont said seriously.

Only then did Amelie take it, and the two of them covered their noses and hid in a corner.

“Are we just waiting like this? Will someone come to rescue us?”

Amelie was so agitated and felt that they would come to a death if it went on like this.

“It will be fine.” Lamont was very confident.

Amelie was a little suspicious, wondering if he was aware of something.

After about ten minutes, the room was full of that gas.

After a long time, a fit of dizziness came over Amelie, and she seemed to be unable to hold on.

Although Lamont was by her side to protect her, she still felt powerless.

This cloth strip could only keep them from breathing some gas, but staying in the room full of poisonous gas would kill them sooner or later.

Lamont turned his head and found that Amelie was slipping into a coma. He was so anxious that he quickly hugged her in his

arms.

Inadvertently, the cloth strip in his hand fell to the ground, and Lamont took a big breath of poisonous gas instantly.

His head suddenly ached, and he quickly picked it up to cover his mouth and nose, then supported Amelie with his body, and walked aside.

Now the most important thing was to find a way to pry open the door.

Just at that very moment, there was a knocking sound from outside the door.

Lamont opened his eyes wide, staring fixedly at the door.

Soon the door was opened, and it was Miriam, Lamont’s assistant who rushed over.

“Mr. Byron, are you okay?”

She was about to rush in, but was stopped by Lamont.

“Don’t come in. It’s full of poisonous gas. Go, let’s get out of here!”

After speaking, he carried Amelie and left the room.

When they ran far away from the ship, Lamont opened his mouth and gasped for the fresh air.

“Mr. Byron, how do you feel?”

“Quick, call an ambulance.”

Lamont took a glance at Amelie in his arms. She hadn’t woken up yet and seemed very uncomfortable.

“Yes, I’ve called an ambulance, but it’s a little far away, and it will take some time.”

As soon as the voice faded away, the sound of an ambulance came not far away.

Lamont’s expression softened a lot.

In the hospital, Amelie was rescued and was still in a coma.

Miriam was doing the formalities was on the side.

Miriam at the side was still waiting for Lamont. Now that her boss was unconscious, how should she stabilize the situation?

When Amelie woke up, it was already the next morning.

The weather was clear and sunny, very suitable for spring outings.

Amelie slightly opened her eyes. A wave of tiredness swept over her, but fortunately, she felt much better.

“Amelie, you’ve woken up. I was worried sick about you when you were unconscious.”

“Where’s Lamont? Where is he? Why didn’t you see him? How’s his condition?”

When Amelie woke up, the first one she thought of was Lamont.

Belen was slightly taken aback when she heard this, thinking she had heard it wrong.

Then she spoke.

“Mr. Byron’s situation is not very good. The doctor said that he inhaled too much poisonous gas, so…”

Amelie cut her off before she finished speaking.

“How could this be, no! I’m going to have a look.”

With that, Amelie was about to get up from the bed.

“Amelie, don’t be impulsive. You are still weak. You are a patient.”

“I still can’t feel at ease. After all, he was in danger to save me. How can I be at ease without seeing him?”

Seeing that she was so persistent, Belen had no choice but to help her get out of bed. And then they slowly walked towards the

intensive care.

Amelie looked at Lamont inside through the window.

He was lying motionless on the bed with many instruments next to him, which were constantly on working.

His situation was indeed not very good. The intensive care unit wasn’t open to people casually, and it wasn’t time for visiting patients.

Just like that, Amelie stared at Lamont at the door motionless.
