The Return of the Disguised Princess novel Chapter 259

Chapter 259 Rumors

“Okay, then I’ll go first.”

Lamont said as he raised his hand and checked the time on his watch, preparing to leave.

Meanwhile, on the film set, Amelie was anxiously waiting for him.

It was already noon, and even though Lamont had sent her a text message in the morning saying that he would have lunch with her, he hadn’t shown up yet and hadn’t given her any explanation.

Belen noticed that Amelie looked worried and thought that something had happened.

“Amelie, is everything okay?” she asked.

As soon as she finished speaking, the door of the studio opened, and Lamont walked in.

Amelie didn’t answer but handed the things in her hand to Belen.

“You go ahead and have lunch. Let me know if anything comes up,” Amelie said, before walking towards Lamont.

Belen smiled awkwardly.

She had previously thought that there might have been some conflict between the two, but now she saw them happily heading out to have lunch together, appearing as a loving couple.

“Amelie, what do you want to eat for lunch?”

Lamont’s serious demeanor faded away when he saw Amelie.

“Anything is fine. I just want to rest for a while. I solved a problem this morning, and I want to take a break,” Amelie replied as she rubbed her shoulder.

She had come to the set early in the morning, and the director had already sent all the data to her.

The online criticism against her was still ongoing, and it not only affected her personally, but also had a huge impact on her career.

Amelie had not yet thought of a feasible solution, so she could only follow the director’s arrangements, release a press release, and rally her fans to maintain her reputation.

But this was not a long-term solution.

“Is it about online public opinion?”

Lamont affectionately held Amelie and walked towards the elevator.

“Yes! It’s all because of you, making me feel trapped now.”

Amelie sighed deeply, feeling exhausted both physically and men tally.

“Don’t worry, I will help you.” Lamont slightly curled his lips.

He was willing to do anything for his beloved woman, no matter how difficult or dangerous it was.

“Don’t help me anymore. Isn’t the current public opinion bad enough? I don’t want to turn it into a public scandal,

and also…”

Amelie stopped halfway through her words.

“What’s wrong? Don’t you want our relationship to be made public?”

Amelie suddenly thought of what her parents had said to her at home.

She was full of conflicts and didn’t know how to make a decision.

Seeing her like this, Lamont understood that the situation was not a simple one.

“Okay, let’s put it aside for now. Let’s go out for lunch.”

Lamont comforted her, and they then left the courtyard and got into the car.

After lunch, Lamont drove Amelie back to the rest room. During the ride, they didn’t talk much. Lamont would occasionally glance at her through the rearview mirror, but noticed that her expression was not good and he couldn’t figure out what was going through her mind.

Soon they arrived at the hotel. Amelie was about to step out of the car, but Lamont pulled her back.

“You have to trust me, I have the ability to solve this. I know your parents are deeply prejudiced against me, and we can’t be together officially right now. But I won’t give up. As long as you don’t give up, I will convince them.”

Lamont said with unusual seriousness.

As the president of a group company, he was always efficient and decisive in everything he did, but when it came to Amelie, he was always very careful.

In his heart, Amelie was his greatest vulnerability.

“I see.”

Amelie said lightly, and then went into the hotel lobby.

Lamont watched her leave and his expression turned serious.
