Chapter 340 Old Friends
“Amelie Mullen, although it can’t be helped, but I really can’t see you upset. A lot has changed in the past three years, and now I have figured all out, I will always stand by you. Let me know.
whenever you need me.”
Belen Patrick looked at Amelie earnestly.
“Thank you, my future sister-in-law.”
Amelie replied with a smile.
“What sister-in-law! Rex Mullen hasn’t proposed to me yet. He said the situation is unstable, and
he is afraid of holding me back. If you ask me, he just doesn’t love me!”
“How is it possible? Don’t you know the kind of feelings Rex has for you?”
Amelie hurriedly defended Rex Mullen.
“I don’t know. Anyway, he still hasn’t proposed to me. Rex is simply a typical man. I don’t understand. It’s been three years. How many more three years does he think I will wait for him?”
Belen complained, feeling more and more aggrieved.
Amelie felt helpless seeing her good old friend in such distress.
She didn’t expect Rex to be so useless, and still acted clueless about his relationship.
“Belen, don’t worry. You are my future sister-in-law, I’m sure of it. Leave Rex to me. I will find out
what he is up to. Could it be…”
She paused halfway and quickly grabbed Belen’s hand.
“From what I can see, Rex is just worried about something might go wrong. Now the Mullen family has not settled down yet, Rex probably feels he can’t give you a good future. That is why he hasn’t proposed to you. My good sister-in-law, don’t worry, based on what I know about Rex, he definitely has you in his heart, and he would never dare to treat you badly.”
“Is that true?”
“Of course it is. Why would I lie to you?”
Belen finally calmed down and didn’t say anymore.
“I know it isn’t easy for him, but I want us to face the difficulties together. I don’t know how long I can hold on. My family is also pressuring me. I said I have a boyfriend, but I haven’t taken Rex to meet my parents yet, and I dare not bring it up. I know what he means, so… it’s a long and sad
story.”
Amelie sympathized with Belen’s feelings.

“But fortunately, you’re back, and I have a company now. Otherwise, I’d have to see Rex’s face every day, which is infuriating.”
Belen quickly changed the topic, with a smile on her face.
“It seems Rex is still good to my sister-in-law. Judging by your face. He must be afraid of letting you suffer, right?”
“Of course!”
Belen said proudly.
“Okay, I can see your studio is pretty busy. You go ahead, and let me know if there is anything else. I won’t bother you any longer.”
“Are you leaving now? Stay a bit longer, then we can have lunch together and a nice catch up.”
“No. As you know, your father hasn’t fully recovered yet. I have to go back. After all, he is my future father-in-law. I need to look after him.”
“How is my father?”
Amelie asked cautiously.
“He’s much better, but he really misses you. You know you are a baby bump of your family. They can’t stop thinking about you if they don’t know your whereabouts. But don’t worry, I won’t tell them you are back. I will take good care of them, and let you know the soonest if anything happens.”
“Thank you, it’s so good to have you.”
Amelie said gratefully.
“Don’t be so polite. You go ahead with your work. I’m leaving now.”
Belen stood up, picked up her bag, turned around and leave.
Amelie was very pleased to see she had gradually matured.
