Chapter 359 The Banquet
Amelie then looked at the message on the box, and it was indeed her
She was a little curious as to who would mail her something.
“Ms. Cisneros, you’d better sign for it.”
message.
“Don’t worry, we’ve gone through security checks for these couriers, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with them.”
Amelie heard his words, then she was relieved and took it from his hand.
“Okay, thanks.”
After saying that, she closed the door.
She carried the box to the living room. When she unwrapped the outside, she realized that the box looked surprisingly expensive.
She unwrapped it little by little and soon opened the box.
Inside lay an exquisite dress.
“Who bought this dress for me?”
Amelie took a look at the dress and then put it inside.
A card was also placed underneath.
She hurriedly picked it up and opened the card, and the familiar handwriting inside instantly jogged her memory.
This handwriting was Lamont’s handwriting.
Even after so many years, Amelie still saw it at first glance.
She saw the content on it and instantly froze in place.
Amelie looked at the courier incredulously.
“May I ask if this is the same city courier?”
“Yes, Ms. Cisneros. You just need to sign here.”
Amelie didn’t take the pen.
She looked at the dress and thought it was very strange.
Why would Lamont send this to her? What was the purpose?
The courier saw that Amelie did not sign and felt a little strange.
“Ms. Cisneros, why don’t you hurry up and sign?”
He spoke once more, and only then did Amelie take the pen from his hand and write her name.
“Many thanks.”
She then took the box and walked into the room.
She took out the dress inside.
It was a white dress with a lot of embellishments on it, which looked very nice.
The dress was name-brand and looked very much like an evening gown.
When Amelie couldn’t figure it out, her phone suddenly rang.
She then put down the dress in her hand and went to the table in the living room.
Picking up the phone, she found that the screen was displaying Lamont’s name.
Amelie immediately tensed up, and what Rex said kept coming back to her mind.
She couldn’t have too much contact with Lamont, even if they had worked together before. Inevitably, something unpredictable would happen.
Thinking of this, she put the phone aside and pretended not to hear it.
She had thought Lamont would only call once, but she didn’t expect Lamont to call again.
The phone rang throughout the room, and she had no choice but to answer the call.
“Hello…”
As soon as she finished saying hello, Lamont’s urgent voice came over the phone.
“Ms. Cisneros, there is a dinner party this evening, please join me.”
“A dinner party? Mr. Byron, I’m not quite right. My current status is not suitable to attend your dinner party. Mr. Byron, please find someone else.”
Amelie said, hung up the phone.
