The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning (Madelyn) novel Chapter 1006

Chapter 1006

Madelyn thought to herself, ‘Me? Delicate? In the previous lifetime, you never saw me like that. You always put me down back then.’

Madelyn embraced Zach, resting against him. She only did so because fighting back seemed useless. She wished things with Zach had never happened, but she had already given up on him.

Zach, worried Madelyn might be bored, chatted with her. Maybe Kai’s advice helped him. Even though there was a big gap between him and Madelyn, Zach believed he could bridge it.

Zach said, “No one has ever worn those wedding dresses. I made each one myself.”

Madelyn was surprised, thinking, ‘He made them himself?’ Her heart raced, faster than the calm heartbeat she felt against Zach’s chest.

Zach continued, “I made them when you left three years ago. If I really cared about Cecilia, I wouldn’t have divorced Yvonne. You’re upset about what I did to the Arnold family, so I’m trying to fix it. Ethan’s death has nothing to do with me. The Arnold residence and

corporation are now with the Young family. If she wants to rebuild the Arnold Corporation, I won’t stop her.”

Madelyn closed her eyes, not wanting to listen Zach. She was upset. When they approached Alicia’s grave, they saw lots of snow. Many graves were covered, but Alicia’s tombstone was clear.

Madelyn’s face turned red from the cold. Zach warmed her face, and said, “Ethan is still alive.”

Shocked, Madelyn asked, “What?”

She could not believe Zach and stared at him.

Zach held her hand and said. “I’ve searched for Ethan’s body. We didn’t find it, so he might still be alive.”

Madelyn, cold and shocked, held onto Zach, teary-eyed, and asked, “Is he really alive? Are you serious?”

Zach wiped her tears and said, “I’ve never lied to you. I always keep my promises.”

Zach hugged Madelyn, protecting her from the cold. He said, “The past doesn’t matter to me. Madelyn, can we start over?”

Madelyn cried, “It’s all my fault he died.”

Zach comforted her, “It’s my fault, Madelyn, for wanting to keep you. I’ll find him and bring him back.”

Zach stroked her hair as he said that. His words were tender, but his eyes were colder than the snow and wind.

After paying respects to Alicia, Zach felt Madelyn was slowly accepting him while on the way back

Back at the South Haven Villas, Zach helped Madelyn with her snow-dampened coat and said, ” Wash up, then we’ll eat. Take your time deciding about the wedding. You’ll always be Mrs.
