Blake glanced at her phone and saw a message and a missed call.

She responded, "Oh, I'm sorry! I was napping when you called me. And I forgot that I've muted my phone."

Blake changed topics. "By the way, have you eaten? How about I treat you to a meal?"

Liam replied, "I brought food for you."

Blake was surprised, "What's this?"

Liam said, "I made it myself."

Blake took a deep breath, "You cooked?"

Liam maintained his smile as he said, "I made it according to your preference. Since you like spicy food, I made some spicy buffalo wings that you like."

Blake loved food more than anything. She was a little moved upon hearing what he said. She thought, 'He must be interested in me since he brought me food. I can't string him along.'

She responded, "Liam, I'm sorry... I have a boyfriend! I quite like him and we work in the same company. He confessed to me yesterday. I can't accept this!"

Liam's eyes turned gloomy, "Can we be friends then?"

Blake remained quiet and thought, 'Why is he so humble?'
