Under the unpredictable wrath of Cecilia, Susan hurriedly fled the office. Shortly afterward, Cecilia received an anonymous call. 

The caller said, “We did as you asked and found an underground organization. Why didn’t you mention they were associated with the Jent family? Now we’ve offended them, which means we’ve offended Mr. Jardin of the Jardin Corporation. If he seeks retribution, we have no way out. You’re pushing us into a pit of fire!” 

Cecilia was indifferent to their plight. “Where are the items I asked 

for? Why haven’t you found them yet?” 

The items you want? We’ve turned the place upside down and found nothing. We’re going to lay low for a while. You should find someone else for your tasks,” the caller said before hurriedly ending the call. 

“A bunch of useless fools,” Cecilia muttered, scattering the 

documents on her desk in frustration. Her face twisted in 

malevolence. “Zach, you brought in Fred’s people to protect M and that adopted child. Don’t think this will stop me. Just wait, l’i make sure both Madelyn’s belongings and that child are destro 

leaving no trace.” 

‘Knowing Zach, he must’ve prepared the documents beforehand, transferring all his assets to Madelyn. I can’t let that happen, not after all my painstaking efforts. I can’t let my plans fall apart. If anyone is 

to blame, it’s not me for being ruthless,’ Cecilia thought. 

Meanwhile, Blake was restless at home, feeling increasingly uneasy as the evening progressed. Even when night fell, Kevin still had not 

returned. 

Hearing a knock on the door, she wondered, ‘Is that him?’ 

She rose from the couch and stood in the dark living room, hesitating 

at the door. Then she remembered Kevin’s warning, ‘Don’t turn on the 

lights or answer the door if I’m not back. If someone claims it’s about 

me, ignore them. If I don’t return by morning, call the police and ask to 

be taken to Southern Haven Villas. Fred’s men will protect you there. 

Stay inside if you notice anyone following you. I’ll come get you once
