Kai was convinced that if Kevin were to pursue his own endeavors 

independently, he might not be worse than Zach. However, Kevin did not have a reputable family background, and no one else could fully understand what he had gone through. 

No one could choose which family they were born into. Kevin had his own difficulties, and the issues he carried with him were not 

something that could simply be overlooked. 

Kai believed that if Blake truly wanted to be with Kevin, it would not be that simple; they had to overcome the challenges on their own. 

Kai thought, ‘During this process, Blake needs to be independent and grow. If she continues acting like she is now, always relying on others, her relationship with Kevin won’t have a positive outcome.’ 

Blake never knew it was so difficult to resolve something on her own. Why is Cecilia doing all this?’ 

In the end, Blake chose to confront Cecilia in person in the CEO’s 

office. 

Cecilia straightforwardly said, “I just feel a bit tired managing the 

company alone. Is there a problem with wanting someone to help me 

manage the company?” 

Blake replied, “Mr. Jardin will wake up soon. What you’re doing is harming the company.” 

Cecilia was unconcerned with it. “Is there a problem with me selling my shares? If there’s nothing else, would you like to go out for a meal 

with me?” 

“I lose my appetite when I see you.” Blake immediately turned around and left the office. She thought, ‘I can’t trust whatever Cecilia said. Why is she selling the shares to the public? What’s the real reason 

behind it?’ 

After Blake took the elevator down, she happened to encounter a few people from the marketing department chatting. Blake stayed in the 

corner, unnoticed by anyone. 

Two people engaged in a conversation. One of them said, “I’m 

starting my annual leave next week. I’m planning to go overseas. How about you? Have you applied for your leave?” 

The other person responded, “Not yet! I still have a ton of work waiting for me. It’s so annoying!” 

Blake suddenly realized something, ‘Overseas! How could I forget 

that?!’ 

She recalled that a year ago when Zach found Madelyn, he had already transferred most of his assets abroad. She remembered that most of Zach’s main businesses were overseas, and thus Jardin 

Corporation’s business interests were insignificant to him. 

Blake continued to be lost in her thoughts, ‘When Kevin was still working here, he was already helping with Mr. Jardin’s immigration procedures. Originally, Mr. Jardin had planned to take Madelyn 

overseas after their wedding.
