Chapter 1295
Grace expressed her concern, “Marriage is a pivotal moment.
Skipping a wedding might draw unwelcome attention and cause
rumors.”
Liam noticed Blake’s discomfort and quickly reassured her, his voice steady and supportive. “It’s okay, Blake has made her decision, and I will support her in whatever she chooses.”
Seeing the couple fall silent, Grace did not press further. “If a wedding isn’t what you want, we’ll respect that decision. Let’s plan a family
dinner, at the very least.”
Blake agreed without further objection and said, “I’ve already made arrangements for dinner next month when my parents return. We can
celebrate together then.”
Grace accepted this plan. She conceded, “Since you’re both in agreement, I’ll support it. It’s ultimately your choice.”
Shifting the topic, Grace’s tone turned to concern. “By the way, Blake,
have you tried contacting Mya recently? It’s odd. She used to call home every day, but recently there’s been no word from her and I can’t get through to her old number.”
Blake responded, a hint of worry in her voice. “I’ve tried calling since I
got here, with no luck. She might be preoccupied.”
Grace nodded and said, “I’m not as worried about her safety as I am
about her health. I fear she’s not holding up well, and her condition
might worsen to the point that she might even forget us.”
Chapter 1295
Blake promised, albeit reluctantly, “I’ll try calling her again.”
Grace then offered, “Why not stay here tonight? It’s been too quiet
around here without you.”
Blake agreed to stay.
After dinner, while Blake and Grace took a reflective walk outside,
Liam and Simon engaged in a game of chess inside.
During their walk, Grace probed gently, “You had feelings for Kevin,
didn’t you? What changed? Did something happen? Marriage is for
life, Blake. You need to think it through.”
Blake hesitated, then suppressed her troubles to herself. She did not
want to burden Grace, who had already aged significantly from
worrying about Mya.
“I’ve made up my mind. Who I marry doesn’t really matter. Liam said if
I ever want to divorce, he’d let me go,” said Blake.
Grace, sensing something unsaid, cautiously asked, “Did Cecilia
influence this decision?”
