Tears streamed down Blake’s face as she wiped them away with a 

blank expression, murmuring to herself, “I don’t believe you’re gone, 

just like that. If you haven’t come back to look for me in three years, 

I’ll go search for you myself. 

“No matter where you are or what it takes, even if it means going to 

the ends of the earth. I’ll never believe you’re dead, Kevin.” 

Unbeknownst to Blake, two men observed her from a secluded corner 

of Ventropolis through surveillance footage. One chuckled. “This 

woman does have feelings for Kevin. She’s been here almost a dozen 

times in a month. And she’s about to get married, doesn’t her 

husband mind?” 

The other, holding a cup of coffee, added, “Who knows? Kevin don’t 

know how to cherish a good woman.”

The window rolled down revealing Cecilia, who took off her 

sunglasses and said, “Get in, Blake.” 

Blake replied coldly, “I’m not talking to you.”

Cecilia continued, “I’ve already informed your family. They know I’m 

picking you up. Other than me, no one knows you’re here. Getting in 

the car will save us some trouble.” 

Not trusting her, Blake stared at Cecilia and said, “You had people 

watching me?” 

Cecilia simply smiled, not answering, which seemed like a 

confirmation. She then enticingly said, “If you get in, I’ll tell you about 

Kevin.” 

With those words, Blake got into the passenger seat and asked, ” What do you want to tell me?”
