Jadie felt confused, scared, and anxious about losing the things she held dear. However, out of all these emotions, she felt jealousy most of all.

Jadie was jealous that some people were born privileged; they did not need to do anything to get the things they wanted.

She, on the other hand, could not get the things she wanted no matter how hard she tried and despite even having to endure the disgusting gazes of others.

Madelyn did not dare to look back when she left, terrified that if she did, she would not be able to escape that hell hole.

She quickly got in the car while the driver placed her things into the trunk.

"Have you gotten all of your things, Ms. Jent?"

"Yep! Let's go."

'This Etlinish cassette is the most important thing. No wonder I couldn't find it for the past few days,' she thought.

When Madelyn returned to the Arnold residence, she saw the old woman again.

The old woman looked over when she heard the commotion. She wore bronze-colored eyeglasses with chains dangling by their sides and had a cane in her hand.

"What're you doing here again, ma'am?"

"I'm old. I've gotten lost again. Do you have something to eat? I'm starving!"

Madelyn looked around and saw that the servants were not around.

"I'll make you something to eat!"

Madelyn took off the red-colored scarf from her neck. Then, she took off her coat—revealing her beige sweater—and hung it on the coat rack.

Then, she rolled up her sleeves and went to the kitchen. She poured a glass of water and set it in front of the old woman.

"Have a seat. Here's some water. And if you're hungry, you can have some fruit. The food will be ready soon."

Madelyn switched on the television that had not been used in ages and switched to the opera channel.

Surprised, the old woman asked, "How'd you know I like this show?"

"I used to stay with my grandma, and she loved this show." Madelyn responded.
