The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning (Madelyn) novel Chapter 487

Chapter 487

The servant picked up the untouched food and hurriedly left. At the doorway, she spotted Madelyn approaching

Miss Jent.”

Madelyn glanced at her and asked, He still hasn’t eaten?”

The servant nodded with concern, saying, You should go check on him.”

Madelyn glanced at the closed study door. Please prepare some food again, she instructed

Alright.”

With a medicine box in hand, Madelyn stood in the hallway. She raised her hand to knock on the door but hesitated. The soft, warm glow from the overhead lamp cast a gentle light on her youthful face, her expression inscrutable. Without further ado, she pushed open the door and walked in. An overwhelming smell of tobacco hit her, and she noticed shattered teacups on the floor

Madelyn smiled. She wasn’t sure where to step amidst the broken porcelain. Carefully making her way forward, she took a seat beside him. Ethan felt the space beside him sink before he could react. He didn’t even get a chance to look when she pinched off his cigarette and tossed it into the ashtray

Madelyn absentmindedly grabbed his hand and unbuttoned his shirt cuff. Did you forget what the doctor told you? You’re not supposed to smoke.Lowering her head, she could sense his piercing gaze on her

She noticed that his wound had already scabbed over and looked much better than before

Why are you here?He sounded grumpy

Because I’m afraid you’ll get so angry with yourself that you’ll make yourself sick in the end.”

Ethan didn’t pull his hand away from Madelyn. Instead, he placed it on her lap, allowing her to apply the medicine

She felt the room was getting stuffy. She put down the cotton swab and said, Let’s open the window, and you should take off your shirt so I can treat your wound.”

As she turned, Ethan had already risen and left the study

Madelyn didn’t hurry to open the window, deciding to wait for the servant to clean up later

Later on, she went to Ethan’s room. It smelled better than the study, with a faint scent of pine wood. Although she lived here, she rarely entered his room

Standing in front of Ethan, she reached out and expertly unbuttoned his shirt, as if it wasn’t the first time. Because it wasn’t. Madelyn had treated him before. At first, it might have felt a bit awkward, but as time passed, she had grown accustomed to it

Have you ever done this for him before?he asked

Yes.”

While applying ointment to his wound, Ethan felt a cool sensation spreading over it

She noticed his expression darken

Madelyn said calmly, To be honest with you, I just didn’t want to lie to you, and I don’t want you to lie to me either. He and I have never been together, and there’s no chance of that happening in the future. It’s like you and Donna, our pasts are just that the past.”

Ethan asked, If I hadn’t investigated, would you have ever told me?”
