Not only was he overwhelmed with a mountain of evidence, but he was also running around like a headless chicken.
The phone rang, and Baldrick glanced at the caller ID before answering.
"Baldrick, regretting competing with me yet?" Cyrus's icy voice came through the receiver.
With a cool smile, Baldrick replied, "Likewise, it seems the issues with The Gordon Group aren't completely resolved on your end either."
"Almost there, just a few more days," Cyrus retorted with a sneer.
"What a coincidence, I've got a few days myself," Baldrick responded, unimpressed.
Cyrus didn't believe a word. "Is that so? Let's see if you can really wrap things up in just a few days."
With that, he hung up.
Baldrick watched the phone, a cold smile on his lips. "Doesn't believe me, huh?" he murmured. He wasn't one for lying, after all.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
Baldrick looked up as his assistant entered, offering a respectful nod. "Mr. Robertson, everything is ready."
"Alright, let's get going," Baldrick said with detachment.
No point holding back now; he wasn't one to be underestimated.

At the airport.
Lucy stepped off the plane, watching as Cyrus arranged her new identity papers, and exhaled deeply.
Finally, a chance to start over with a new name and a new life.
"Just you wait, Nancy," Lucy muttered through gritted teeth. "Don't think I've lost this time. When I'm back on top, you'll be the first I deal with."
