Judson's pupils constricted sharply, and even Michael, who had just rushed in, sensed something was amiss.
Yvonne and Ember were too consumed by their grief to notice anyone entering.
Ember, thinking about Nancy and Ramona being taken away, cried even harder. "It's my fault, all of it. I put them in danger. If it weren't for me..."
Before she could finish her sentence, a strong hand grabbed the back of her collar.
In the next instant, she was yanked up roughly.
Ember let out a startled scream. "Ahhh..."
Even Yvonne was taken aback, staring at the grim-faced man who had appeared out of nowhere.
"Who... who are you? Let go of my mom!"
Judson's dark eyes were filled with an icy rage. "Tell me, who took Nancy and Ramona?"
With her collar choking her, Ember found it hard to breathe. She looked at Judson, whose expression was terrifying.
Whether from fear or guilt, her whole body began to tremble uncontrollably. "It was a woman. She gave my husband a lot of money to drug them."
Judson flung Ember to the ground and turned his cold gaze to Michael. "Find Nancy and Ramona."
No matter the cost, he had to find Nancy.
Michael didn’t hesitate. "Understood." He turned and sprinted out.
Judson was about to leave when he remembered something. He cast a chilling look back at Ember, who was kneeling on the floor.
Yvonne, though scared, stood protectively in front of Ember, stretching out her hand as she shook like a leaf. "No, don’t hurt my mom."
Judson let out a cold, harsh laugh.
"Ember, you better pray my chief designer is unharmed. If she so much as loses a hair, I promise your three children won't see tomorrow's sunrise."
His voice was cold and devoid of any warmth.
Ember's breath caught in her throat, leaving her mind completely blank.
