The Royal Military Academy's Impostor Owns a Dungeon [BL] novel Chapter 279

Chapter 279: Birthday Dinner

Owen Mylor was many things—the youngest golden child, a promising Star Net influencer, a student with at least 80% attendance—but most importantly, he was the birthday boy!

And today? Today, he was king.

Well, more like, for the next seven hours and 34 minutes. But who was counting, right?

Not him! Especially not when his day had been made the moment he had held his not-so-big brother’s gift!

At first, Ollie was confused about the giant in their house, only to learn that this was now Owen. The young boy who used to be an inch shorter had likely eaten another child for him to shoot up like that!

While Owen wasn’t as tall as Olivia yet, it was clear that he was also on the path to being a goliath.

Like everyone else, except him.

At first, he was going to be petty but realized that his father was still eyeing him. Technically, it wasn’t really his brother’s fault that he was born to be a titan, although, on the other hand, it was also not his fault that he was practically born a midget.

But still, he was a model brother, and eventually handed over the gift he prepared with Luca, his only kind brother!

Owen was vibrating as he received a gift that was labelled "For Owen. Do not eat."

The youngest brother was touched to see that Ollie even put a label on it, but he didn’t really need to know that the label was actually for the gift-giver who usually quality checked the goods multiple times a day like a diligent inspector.

But for the youngest Mylor child, this was not just food. It was divine recognition.

It was justice.

But after blinking at the box, he realized that there was a tinier one.

"That one is the actual gift while the larger box is my contribution to your birthday dinner." Said Ollie who pointed at the two boxes.

Technically, their House was one that practiced celebrating birthdays with family dinners, though usually, despite having choices of a few dishes, they’d be snacking on nutrient solutions while talking to each other.

But now that he’s had a concept of an actual dinner, he felt like it was something he should share with everyone. And he did, even when they stared at him in disbelief, as there was one box for the family, while Owen got an entire box for himself.

Unbelievable.

However, there was no pushing the brother who only said that well, they could push up their birthdays sooner and then he might reconsider!

This just further cemented Ollie’s place in Owen’s heart and swore that he’d give a kidney if Ollie ever needed it, though why he’d need it with reconstructive technology, he wouldn’t know, but at least the principle was there.

The rest of the family—siblings Otis, Olivia, and Ozren, along with some slightly dazed staff—watched as the birthday boy devoured the contents of the box that emitted such an enticing aroma.

But more than Owen’s expected reaction, they were more curious about the true enigma of the evening, Ollie.

"So," began Olivia slowly, "you actually passed the mercenary exam for mechanics?" She sounded like she needed to confirm if her ears were working.

"I did!"

"Legally?"

"Yes! Pop even looked at the card!"

"Huh."

Olivia slumped onto the velvet chair like her soul had left her. "And to think I missed that invitation message. I was probably asleep." She squinted.

Owen scoffed. "Classic Liv."

"Shut up, Birthday Chicken."

It was rather expected, as Liv was unusually diligent with her work, acting like she was built with ten humans in mind and functioned like one. But the downside was how she was when her vacation came. Just like this, she became Olivia the hermit.

And if not for today’s celebration, his sister would have remained clueless til next month, and he was trying to keep it that way.

So, to deflect what would likely mark the beginning of an interrogation, Ollie did what he did best: bribery.

One by one, he handed packs of banana chips from his personal stash, sliding them over to the staff with all the reverence of a holy offering. From the Butler down to the maids and gardeners, each one received a sizable packet.

They all thanked him, even as they trembled while clutching the items. Not everyone had space buttons, but those who did immediately hid the bag like it was contraband.

Surprisingly, or as predicted, no one asked where it came from.

And not a single whisper left the manor.

Because to belong to House Mylor meant understanding and honoring the importance of silence.

But Ollie’s success streak came to a halt the moment he turned the corner and met the Final Boss.

His mother.

Marquise Julienne.

"Oliver," she said softly.

"You didn’t contact us," she said, voice gentle. "You didn’t even try, Oliver".

Chapter 279: Birthday Dinner 2

"I do know them!" Ollie huffed, suddenly indignant.

"Do you? Then do they know how precious you are? She pinched his cheek and had he been any younger, she was probably going to pinch his butt cheek.

Oh, sweetie, you look more like a wife than someone who’s about to find one. She thought as she examined the milk ball in front of her.
