Thaddeus stared at me for a long time, then frustrated shoved me away and drove back to his mansion.

He let a maid give me a bath and change my clothes. After the coaxed, I managed to eat some soup.

It wasn't that I didn't want to eat. I was terrified to.

They loved to lay out a feast when I was starving. If I reached for a taste, the punishment came again. Even glancing too long was enough to set them off.

After enough beatings, I stopped looking and eating any more.

"Don't like it? Still acting like a princess? You're definitely the same one. Fine, let's out for dinner."

Thaddeus finally smiled for once. Seeing that smile, I nearly burst into tears from panic.

At the restaurant, I curled up in the corner, staring at my feet. I never touched my silverware, which finally set Thaddeus off.

"What's your problem? You’re too busy missing your new boyfriend to eat? Scarlett, how dare you hook up with someone after just two months?"

"Just because I made you work at a waitress, now you won't even eat with me? Could you drop the attitude for just one second? Who else would give a damn about you except me!"
