The Second Life of a Discarded Heiress novel Chapter 75

As soon as Sebastian stepped into the club, his gaze immediately landed on Citrine among the small group of people.

Tonight, she wore a black leather jacket over a white slip dress, her chestnut hair tumbling carelessly down her back. The look was equal parts sweet and edgy, making her stand out dazzlingly in the crowd.

It had been over two weeks since he'd last seen her—Sebastian hadn't expected their paths to cross again so soon.

Right now, she stood there, expressionless, exuding a kind of aloof beauty that made people hesitate to approach. The phrase that popped into Sebastian's mind was "untouchable." She was like a rose on a mountaintop—beautiful, but distant.

It seemed she was in the middle of a disagreement with the receptionist. Even though her face was calm, Sebastian could sense she was upset.

"What's going on? Is something wrong?" he asked, not wasting any time as he strode over.

Citrine blinked in surprise when she saw him. "What are you doing here?" She could've sworn he worked at a bakery last she'd checked—what was he doing at this place now?

"I'm on night shift," Sebastian replied, glancing down at his staff uniform as if that explained everything.

She noticed the uniform for the first time and didn't press further.

"So, what happened?" Sebastian looked from Citrine to the woman at the front desk.

Citrine didn't try to hide anything. "We just wanted to come in and have some fun, but the staff here called us freeloaders."

Sebastian's eyes hardened at the words.

"I'll report this directly to the manager. For now, let me show you to your room."

With that, he led them down the hall and into a private lounge.

"If you need anything, just let me know," Sebastian said, handing Citrine the menu with a gentle tone.

"Just these, thanks." Citrine ticked off a few fruit platters and some drinks before returning the menu.
