“Why don’t you give him a call?” Rosalynn tugged at Wayne’s sleeve.c2

“You guys wait in the car for a bit.” 

“Alright.” Rosalynn nodded. 

There were too many people at Ivy’s school gate. Them showing up together already attracted a crowd, making it inconvenient to stop and make a call.

The call rang for a long time, with no answer.

“Thank God, I thought you weren’t going to answer” Wayne sighed in relief, “How was your day? Is your injury better? Nobody else has been hurting you, right?” 

“She’s gone, now it’s just me and my grandma” The signal from the boy’s end seemed poor, filled with static.
