The feeling was subtle and hard to describe.

“Darling, I’ll be out for a few days. No one’s home to take care of the plants. Can you please go and check on them?” Wayne sent a message. Rosalynn felt a bit of a headache.

She didn’t reply, just turned off her phone and the lights and went to bed.

Paige had just finished blow–drying her hair when she received a message from Baillie.

“Sleeping yet?”

Paige hurriedly replied, “Not yet!”

“I’m downstairs at your place.” Baillie replied.

Paige pulled open the curtains and looked down to see Baillie leaning against his car, staring at his phone.
