Chapter 175
“Oh really still making excuses! I thought you said you do not lie. So what do you call this Nolan was clearly furious
After their trip to Plutonville, he had come to understand just how much danger Eliza constantly faced. So when the king told him earlier that another assassination attempt had occurred, Nolan’s first thought had gone straight to the people in Plutonville, especially Gilbert.
Gilbert was
t was certain the man would try again. Nolan was deeply concerned about Eliza’s safety.
“I wasn’t lying.” Eliza quickly explained. “I just didn’t want to trouble you?
Do you really think this is a trouble for me? Nolan’s anger flared even more. He lowered his head, getting closer, his gaze intense as he looked at Eliza
His handsome face was serious, and his tone grew more earnest. “Serenity, listen carefully. Your matters have never been trouble to me.”
Eliza was taken aback, her heart pounding as she stared at Nolan, who was now so close that she could feel his breath. At that moment, something seemed to click in her mind.
“Please, don’t hide anything from me again, okay?” His voice, deep and soothing, carried a touch of tenderness, yet it carried an undeniable authority. It was gentle, but the weight of his words made Eliza nod instinctively.
It wasn’t until after she nodded that Eliza realized what she had done. She gasped, “No, wait, I—”
“Enough, no takebacks,” Nolan said, his long fingers pressing gently against Eliza’s lips, silencing her.
“Serenity,” he continued, his voice firm yet warm, “If you don’t want to see me truly angry, then promise me this. As long as it’s not about your safety, you can do whatever you want. I understand you have your secrets. If that secret involves life or death, and revealing it would put you in danger, that’s fine. You can keep it from me forever. I will never pry. But to me, you are the most important.”
His words struck Eliza to her core. She had never imagined Nolan cared about her this much. At that moment, all her unease seemed to melt away.
*Serenity, trust me.” His warm breath tickled her ear as he spoke, and the closeness between them made Eliza blush, her ears slowly turning red from the intensity of the moment.
Eliza had never been in a situation like this before, and she couldn’t resist Nolan’s deliberate charm. In the end, she succumbed to him.
She subtly lowered her chin and pulled her lips away from his fingers. Letting out a soft sigh, she finally spoke. “Alright, I promise. I won’t hide it from you anymore.”
She really had no choice. Even though it was embarrassing, at that moment, she could not argue with Nolan.
Turning her head, she couldn’t help but cover her face with her hands, unable to look him in the eye.
Nolan chuckled lightly, the sound of his laughter lingering in the air. “Good. Now, go back to your room. Leave
Leave the rest to
me.”
With those words, Eliza felt a sense of relief flood over her. She quickly turned and rushed back into her room, slamming
the door behind her.
After a few moments of laughter, Nolan’s expression became more serious. He turned his gaze to Tina, who was standing in the shadows. “Stay here and make sure no one enters Serenity’s room.”
Tina did not respond verbally but lowered her gaze slightly. Even without Nolan’s orders, she would have guarded the place.
